Hope 100 is on the high end. I kind of lose patience and focus with long games.

Yep. I then leave them for like a few months and come back and have no idea wtf I'm doing.

I rather have a short game that changes vastly according to choices than a long one that changes moderately.

As with the previous DA games, I'd bet that the length of the game will depend in large part on which side-quests you choose to do, and how much time you spend exploring/examining/interacting with the areas, items, and both your Companions and the other NPCs you encounter.  The "choices" you make along the main plot-line itself will not alter the overall story length, since the writers will strive to give every allowable path approximately equal complexity.

Again, based on the previous examples, I'd expect about a 60/40 split.  One can chart a straight path through Ferelden or Kirkwall to the Final Battle™, in about 50-60% of the "average" time it takes the average player; so about 20-24 hours.  (For reference, I think the published record for DAO was around 35 minutes.  But that was using game-glitches to skip major requirements, e.g. hopping almost immediately to the Landsmeet after recruiting Leliana.)

Most players will take more like 40-60 hours, and those of use who by nature strive for the "Completionist" achievement will take 100-plus hours.

I have a four day weekend lined up for this game. If it's 100 hours long, I will need to schedule at least 25 hours a day for gaming purposes in order to reach the end.

Challenge accepted, Bioware.

You've got the night of the day before and the early morning of the day after.  You can find those four extra hours in there!

A valid point.

And to think, here I was worried over which companion characters might not survive the Inquisition. I should probably start worrying about whether or not I will.

I never trust dev's estimate on game length, since they ALWAYS double that amount...I tend to always cut their "estimate" in half and I get the real deal.

HOLD IT!

With Bioware, though, they seem to under-estimate their length for me...must be all the codexs (codexi?) entries.

Also, their games are very re-playable, a Bioware game always mean AT LEAST 3 play-throughs for me. I even played DA2 three times (had to force myself on the third run-through).

So I am never worried about getting my bang for my buck when it comes to Bioware.

codices ;)

'Though I don't quite see why you want to use the plural there twice, anyway.
