Don't make me pull out this one....

Liara was the most popular character in the series, and honestly my favorite character. Like the character you want to like. But damn, threads about character hate?

You?
Who use every available opportunity to tell the whole wide world how useless, ugly, not needed, in-general-the-story-would be-better-without-her, stalkerish (and I could probably come up with some more colorful adjectives) Liara is(or isn't, depending on how it suits you)?
You have the guts to call Liara fans when they decide to defend their favourite character out on criticizing other characters?
Yeah, I see no problems with it.
I try not to. Then again the characters that I like, that others seems to dislike (Kaidan and Jacob), never quite attract all the ire that Liara does.

You are right this did kind of turn into a we hate Liara thread. That however was not my intention when I asked the question. Sometimes I am so scatterbrained that I do not correctly express my questions.
What I was referring to is yes the capsules(not the scene its self)
What I was wondering is this. Liara is the archaeologist and yes the best person to create the capsules because she would know how to make them last (as she states in this scene when asked) Is it possible that she went ahead and left them for other races to find even if you destroyed the reapers (pick your ending here). As a way to introduce the new races that would likely come along in the future to the past.
I believe that as a new alien race to the galaxy you would be skeptical of any species talking about Shepard and the crazy stuff that he/she did to save the galaxy. Also why not it is away to show tribute to those that were lost.
So in sense the stargazer and the child are an alien species that have not discovered space flight yet. But they already know of the sacrifices that the races of the galaxy have indured.
They would have a respect for them would they not. And it might make things easier in the way of bringing in new aliens to the galaxy collective.
I did not mean to start a Liara hate thread. I apologize if this upset anyone. I myself think of Liara as a friend to Shepard. Yes she is a little strange at times but that comes with her lack of being a people person.
I guess the real difference is that Liara is one of very few people in the galaxy that's really privy to the information necessary, particularly the plans for the Crucible.
Maybe at first, but quite a few people are working on the Crucible by the time it's finished, including many different species, and it's likely that at least some of the other governments besides the Alliance know about it. The Council species' councilors and the quarian admirals know, and I think there's some mention of it with Victus while he's on the Normandy. And even the ones who don't know about the Crucible might still have other information that they'd suggest including.
It's not a big deal, I just think they should have had a line or two establishing that Liara wasn't doing this entirely on her own. They could have had an e-mail on Liara's terminal from Kirrahe or Wiks with suggestions on behalf of the STG, for example, or Aethyta giving her a message from the other asari matriarchs.

Any mention of the name Liara starts a Liara hate thread. It is not your fault. The cycle cannot be broken.
She was seeding the galaxy with them in the event you failed in your mission. Apparently the Allied Fleets Science teams made sure that these were seeded on every single known garden world in the galaxy as a warning and technology treasure trove for the next cycle. Once the capsules were made the teams received updates from Dr. T'soni on the progress of the Normandy and from others via QE and these were added to the capsules. Had to be.
Then in the original ending, "releasing the energy of the crucible will destroy the mass relays," left the galaxy a wasteland. It left only questions. All three endings were the same except for the color of the explosions on your screen: You died, the relays exploded, and the Normandy crashed some place on bum ****. The breath scene was impossible unless you played multiplayer. Then the Stargazer scene.... "All that happened so long ago...." The Stargazer scene was to have taken place 10,000 years in the future. With the retcons of the EC it is rendered meaningless and was left in because it's Buzz Aldrin.
The only stargazer scene that actually means anything after the EC is the refuse ending. Here Liara continues to seed the galaxy after Shepard fails. It is even possible that some asari and others managed to find an isolated planet, fly their ships into a star, and hide and live like primitives. It is a big galaxy, and the reapers missed the Leviathans. So whether or not people like the idea of Liara putting together the time capsule, it simply makes sense that she's the one to do it. To paraphrase Mordin: Had to be her. Someone else might have gotten it wrong.

It doesn't make sense for her to tell the story of the Shepard I played. That is why I would've liked an option to pick what best would've fit the Shepard I play and not have her input at all.

Why doesn't it make sense for Liara to carry out a project she came up with?

It doesn't make any sense for your Shepard to have made it past Alchera. You should have been given to the Collectors.

She doesn't know my Shepard's story. Do you want her telling your story?

And what does that have to do with not wanting T'soni to tell my story?
She doesn't know my Shepard's story.
Well, she probably does. You know, because of the whole A) serving with Shepard for at least ME+ME3 and B. being the Shadow Broker thing.

In my playthrough I don't pick her up till after Virmire and I usually don't see her on Illium. So no she doesn't know my story. And being the broker doesn't give her the full story.

You said that it didn't make sense, not that you didn't like it. Nobody said you have to like it.

It doesn't make sense because you don't know what she's saying about Shepard. Why would you have her say something without knowing exactly what she's saying about you? She could say stuff that has nothing to do with Shepard.
It's a historical record, it's not supposed to be super personal or anything
How detailed do you want it? And then she turned left and used the Mako's jump jets to arrive at the uranium deposit.
It's not going to be Commander Shepard was awarded the rank of N7 after the battle of Elysium. One thing led to another, and the DNA of every living thing in the galaxy was irreversibly altered.
Time capsule? What time capsule? ![]()

So every biography ever written was cleared with the subject? And every subject gets to pick who will write his biography from among his friends, whether or not those friends write biographies in the first place?
(What sort of stuff are you imagining Liara's making up, anyway?)
I'll agree that Bio missed out a chance for Shepard to engage in some pretentious douchebaggery with Liara when the topic of the beacons came up, but I'm not sure that's where I'd have burned any additional wordcount.

I don't know.
I like to hear what she says about Shepard. I have no idea what stuff she would add. It could be anything and none of it would apply to my Shepard.
You have no idea what any other character would write either. Why are you so worried about Liara in particular?

I'm not. I just find this amusing.
The definitive book on Shepard will probably be written as a collaboration between Allers and Al-Jilani, anyway.
