It wont get any better until the old, pruddish people who yield power in this country are all dead and gone.

This has a lot to do with it. I think once we start getting some younger people in a position of power we're going to see a lot of change.

Besides sex and violence, language and substance abuse are other issues that often create controversy, like Fallout 3 in Australia. Unless I'm mistaken, I believe Singapore temporarily banned ME1 in 2007/2008 due to the sex scene.

They did. The reason they gave was that it was between a human and an alien, but obviously the problem they had was with the homosexuality implicit in this scene.

Censoring for adults is stupid.

Yes, but in the US these games arent for adults. They are M (17). Technically, they are not adults. The people in charge decided they are not adults. IE if this was truely an adult game it wouldnt be in stores pretty much anywhere and would be viewed with extreme suspicion.

And while not directly related, cigarette smoking is fast becoming a popular controversy. I recall reading somewhere about a group pushing for mandatory R ratings for films containing smoking. I wouldn't be surprised to hear someone bring up the issue regarding the Illusive Man.

Sorry, we try to discourage political discussion in our forum. Besides, it's not Mass Effect related.

End of line.
