Might not even be a full betrayal. They might go the Yoshimo route and have one of the comps magically compelled by the big bad to **** you over.
Cassandra will leave you like morrigan and isabella.

In previous games, almost all the companions had moments were they could betray/abandon you.
I don't think DA:I will be any different in this regard.
I'd like to get pulled into the Fade and see what a desire demon or pride demon might offer to cause the various companions to turn on me. Maybe Cassandra likes big boats and she cannot lie?
More like "I like big dragons" ![]()

Betraying and attempting to kill the only guy who can stop the ominous green tears dispensing demons all over the world is a pretty dumb move no matter who you are. I doubt Cassandra, probably the first companion to join us, is going to betray us. Maybe one of the other companions will betray us and turn out to be a double agent or something. I'unno. Sky was originally going to betray you in Jade Empire unless you got on his good side or romanced him. Maybe we'll pull the double agent fully onto our side with the power of true love.
I thought all mages had the power to closed veil portals especially a rift mages.

The Breaches are probably unique tears.

Yea, it seemed pretty clear to me that the breach and other tears are somehow different than the weak points in the veil we've seen before.
It seems more...physical. We're not talking about spirits pouring through and possessing things, but physically manifesting. At least that's how I've interpreted.

My only hope here is that she will not be the "necessary" companion which can not be sent away/killed/not picked up at all. I really do.

She probably will. I mean, from the sounds of things the Inquisition is her and Justinia's idea. Why you hate her?

I don't hate her, I just don't want her to be around. Well, even if she is necessary for the plot or anything, she'll be stuck at the keep making soup I guess ![]()

Alright, why don't you want her around then?
Well, to cut the long story short...
Judging by her personality in DA2 and in the movie (and also in the trailer of DAI), she's just not the kind of person I usually get along with. Maybe there will be more of those, i don't know, b/c we don't actually know anything about anyone else than Cass and Varric.
Hehe, I will also enjoy my male PC Inquisitor-Jerk trolling her with "Go make me some borshtch woman!" I'd totally see her face in that moment.
Joke.

I want everyone to leave.
I want the PC to be left alone, abandoned, battered, betrayed and defeated.
The game should end with the bad guy plunging a sword trough the PC's chest after a long battle, and we see from the PC's eye view as his body slumps and his vision begins to blur. Then the doors to the sanctum behind the Big Bad burst open and the real heroes swoop in to defeat the now weakened big Bad.
As they batter him from all sides and he falls to his knees, the screen goes black.

And then when you wake up, everyone is asking you how you survived a blast that destroyed thousands.
