Don't use the executioner pistol on the mars mission. I got stuck using it to kill Dr Eva, and simply couldn't (I even lowered the difficulty to casual). I would hit here once and get her to one bar of health, but before I could reload the gets to you and it's game over. I ended up having to restart the mission to get past it.

This is a well known issue with NG+ or people who have DLC pistols.

 

You should be able to switch weapons in that scene, and then may be able to pass it.  Or you can just make sure you either don't have a pistol at all, or have the Predator equipped.

Yeah, when I went back through it I equipped the vindicator and nothing else, problem solved.

Ya, the one time when the game could have defaulted to the Predator and didn't, is the bit where it would have been really helpful.

Eva is why I carry the Eagle regardless of class. if I need to pour out lead to end that portion, why not use the full auto pistol?

If I remember correctly, it indeed defaults to a Predator, but only if you don't carry any pistol at all.

 

I think it's what happened to my shotgun-only Vanguard.

Duly noted. Thanks for the heads-up! I am a frequent user of that pistol and I shall avoid this situation!
