Out of curiosity, is there a variable that can be changed to prevent the battery scene from playing if both are unromanced? Never been a fan of this particular pairing.

Yeah, having one or the two of them dead.

 

Otherwise, there´s no way. But you can always skip the scene and just jump to your final individual farewell with them on Earth.

Thanks for the replies, guess scene skipping it is. By the way, it's not that they hook up with someone else than Shepard that I mind, it's just that I don't see any prior justification for this pairing apart from "they're very popular characters and they're both dextro".

Just remember, that they are still together. It just happened that your shepard did not manage to discover right on time. Same can be true for the 2 engineers should you encourage their relationship.

 

But, in times like this, you can enter into head-canon mode.

I'm not really a huge fan of the hookup either, so I just skip it and interrupt Tali when she's flirting with Garrus. It's also extra added medicine to play the Citadel Epilogue Mod post-game (soon to be automatic post game with MEHEM) and clearly in that mod Garrus and Tali are not "still" together. Helps with any head canon you may be utilizing.

I see no point in saying farewell to people I´m going to meet while on Earth. 

 

Saying goodbye to the doctor or the engineers, or the pilot, I can understand. But for people who will go with me?
