Mages - Autonomy, though the insane zealoty ones need not inquire to higher positions

Templars/Seekers - Zealots need not inquire, level headedness and ability to reason required.

The Chantry - Seperate from State, not everyone follows it and not everybody wants to

Orlesian Loyalist: I don't know

Orlesian Patriot: I don't know

Elven Rebels: Will help

Dalish Elves: Will help the ones that aren't total asses

Grey Wardens: We'll see, we just have to see what this intense thing they're hiding is though.

Tevinter: Screw those slave trading robes

The Qun: No.

Ferelden: I'd have to know what's going on first hand

Crows: No comment

Mages - blow off Adrian's head

Amen to that

my Play through will be something like this

Mages: Completely destroy the Leadership, Allow the low level mages to return to a better Circle

Templars/Seekers: Discipline and Educate if it doesn't work then absorbed by Inquisition

Chantry: No militaristic power, otherwise not much harm in letting it survive

Celene: Dead and gone

Gaspard: Willing to see how Elves and commoners will be treated under his rule, If our Ideologies are similar then, Emperor, otherwise dead and gone

Elven Rebels: If they are organized and decide what their goal is,then will help, if stealing, killing innocents just because they want to cause carnage, then will brutally put down the rebellion

Dalish Elves: Mind your own business and I'll do the same

Tevinter/Qunari: let them kill each other, if they can, otherwise I'll do it

Fereldan: Help if the leader is cooperative (Alistair), if not, then we'll see

Crows: If they try to take my assassination contract, then I'll make their life a living hell, otherwise, meh , got bigger fishes to fry.

Mages - Support the formation of their own nation but I'm not going to make people accept them living near them if they don't want them around. It should be the common's folks decision if they want mages living amongst them and mages should choose if they want to live amongst none mages. If that isn't an option do what I can to increase their liberty.

Templars – Make them acknowledge the will of the common person. If your town is happy with the mage living near by then it's your business not the templars. If that isn't an option do what I can to get them focused on other things then the mages and if that doesn't work start killing. Also kill any of them I believe abused their position.

Seekers – Hold them responsible for not keeping a better eye on the templars and probably execute a lot of them.

The Chantry – Make the acknowledge the laws of the land. If the people want a king and that King says X then the chantry does not get to say G or P or Q and especially not L.

Orlesian Loyalist (Celene's Faction) – Dunno. Help if she's the more pro rights of the common folk most likely.

Orlesian Patriots (Gaspard's Faction) – Same as above.

Elven Rebels – Find out how good of a reason they have for rebelling and decide from their. I want to see the safety steps they're taking with those mirrors.

Dalish Elves – I'm not even sure what they're up to. Suggest they trade/buy some land rights and set up a community even a small one.

Grey Wardens – Look into what they're up to. If nothing evil is going on I'd like to help fund their efforts against the Dark Spawn. Waiting until the next blight seems like a bad way of resolving the issue.

Errr....

Try to reach as many compromises as possible, as long as compromise is an option?

I don't know the details yet, so its premature to say who I would be generally supporting anyway.

My self-insert playthrough has me be pro-mage, pro-elf (not at the cost of human life), and pro"chantry" (right to exist but not oppress, as in similar to Justinias thinking).

However, after reading TME, I'm losing my respect for "the Elven dream".

Let me know if I've missed anyone and share your plans :)

With my elven Inquisitor, the plans for these factions are as follows:

Mages: My Dalish would likely side with the Libertarians among the mages, assuming he could convince them to become allies of the Inquisition, especially since it would bereft the Chantry in using them against an independent elven nation.

Lambert's Seekers and templars: They would be antagonists in the eyes of my elven mage, given their view on mages and magic, as well as the threat they pose to the Dalish clans.

Justinia's Seekers and templars: Given Cullen's inclusion in the Inquisition, it seems they might be working for my "heathen" elf at the inception of the Inquisition because of the efforts of Cassandra, although this is my speculation on the matter. Seekers and templars working directly for a free mage who follows the elven faith of the Creators.

The Chantry of Andraste: My Inquisitor wouldn't deal with them, unless he was incentivized to do so. A formal and public apology for invading the Dales over their refusal to convert, and the de-criminalization of the elven religion would work. Other concessions will be listened to.

Gaspard & Celene's facton: At this point in time, neither one would have my character's support, unless they were willing to sign an armistice with the independent nation of the Dales. Otherwise, he will allow the Orlesian Empire to fall.

Elven Rebels: Briala and her people will have my Dalish Inquisitor's support, if she's still oriented towards helping all the elves in Orlais.

Dalish elves: The People will have the Dales back. Halamshiral will be free, and Comte Pierre will either abdicate his position willingly and be allowed to leave peacefully, or he will perish.

Grey Wardens: Potential allies on the issue of dealing with the threat posed by the darkspawn. Any (possible) thralls to Magister Corypheus will be eliminated; his defeat will be a symbolic victory for the People.

Tevinter & Qunari: Allying with the Imperium or the Qunari triumvirate isn't an option.

Ferelden: As long as the Crown respects the Inquisitor and the role of the Inquisition in the kingdom, they will likely be allies. If Queen Anora and King Alistair are willing to respect my Surana Warden's royal boon for an autonomous Circle, all the better.

Antivan Crows: If Zevran is now in charge (as he was a close friend to my elven Hero of Ferelden), they may be a potential ally.

mages: help them get the reforms they want. A mage community with family setting.

Chantry: Reduce their power in government. They become passive no more armies for them.

Templars: Have them report to my organization. Clean up any corruption.

Seekers: have them report to my organization. Clean up corruption.

Set-up a council with representative from mages/templars/seekers " The Goal is to ferret corruption and end it before it spread.

Orlais: setup a separate section for an elven nation to include Dalish/City Elf.

Orlesian ruler signs treaty to reduced territory and commits to a working/trading agreement with the Elves and mages. The Orlesian ruler no longer has to take orders from the Chantry. Do this or perish.

Grey Warden: Find out what happen to them. Repair if possible.

Ferelden: Make sure they are safe and keep them independent. Kick the Chantry out of their politics as well.

Mages: Bring them back into a reformed circle
Templars/Seekers: Reform/reeducate
The Chantry: Support and modernize.  Seek to Continue Celene's reforms and punish those responsible for her apparent death.
Orlesian Loyalist (Celene's Faction): Seek to ally/marriage to Gaspard--If not an option will support Celene
Orlesian Patriots (Gaspard's Faction): See above
Elven Rebels: Depends on their intentions and how they are presented.  Could see me helping them could see me crushing them.
Dalish Elves: If they are helpful towards ending the tears I will welcome it. If they wish to be left alone I will respect that. If they cause me issues I will crush them.
Grey Wardens: Well based off the trailer I will be killing a lot of them.

I'll throw in these as well, but we don't know of any conflict happening with them:Except for Ferelden doubt any of these will actually play a role but:
Tevinter: Slap them down if they interfere.  If they are behind the explosion and Veal Tears then I am afraid Minrathous will finally be conquered
Qunari: They leave me alone I will leave them alone. Will be entirely open to diplomatic relations.
Fereldan: Will welcome their support.
Antivan Crow's: They leave me alone we are good. I start having crows trying to kill me I will burn Antiva to the ground.

Oh boy, here we go -

Mages - Separated from the Chantry, but overseen by a governing body of 3, each elected from within the 3 major fraternities. Each Circle is responsible to the First Circle, and also to state laws, with Circle law superseding where necessary. Families allowed.

Templars - Reformed into a state policing force. Not just charged with overseeing Mages, but the populace as a whole. They act like the RCMP or State Police, in that jurisdiction within a City goes to the City Guard, then Templars if needed.

Seekers - On paper, they'd be disbanded, as there is no longer a need for the organization. Off paper, though... well, Leliana needs something to do with her spare time :)

The Chantry - Drastically cut their power and influence. Remove the right to call Exalted Marches.

Orlesian Loyalist (Celene's Faction) - Help regain her throne. Negotiate a compact between her Orlais and the rest of Thedas (Qunari and Tevinter excepted).

Orlesian Patriots (Gaspard's Faction) - Destroy. Utterly.

Elven Rebels - Abolish Alienages. Offer rebels one chance to rejoin their people in the forests. Those that choose to remain in the cities will just have to suck it up.

Dalish Elves - Repatriate the Forests (Arlathan, Brecilian, etc) to the Dalish. Then keep an eye on them, but leave them be.

Grey Wardens - Could be very useful allies, especially with the newfound knowledge of the darkspawn and old gods coming to light. Will need to be dealt with warily, though; I'd prefer them on my side, but I'm confident that I can get by without them.

Tevinter - If I could just get my hands on enough gaatlok...

Qunari - If I could just get my hands on enough gaatlok...

Fereldan - Dogs are useful. Dog Lords... almost as such. I kid! Having Alistair and/or Anora on my side would be nice, especially since I mentioned something above about a compact with Celene.

Antivan Crows - So very useful. I would love to have them on my side. If they don't agree, though, I'm sure I have a little bit of that gaatlok left...

The Orlesian nobility will be culled, aside from those who relinquish all titles and claims.

Mages/Templars will be allowed to join the Inquisition, and to serve as attendants within the New Faith after the crisis. Those who refuse will be culled.

The base of Chantry power in Orlais will be destroyed, its teachings replaced with the proper doctrines of the New Faith.

Elves/Dalish, and any inhabitant of Orlais and beyond will be allowed to serve the Maker as equals.

Any who subscribe to the teachings of the Qun, Old Gods, or the Dalish pantheon are heretics, and will be destroyed as they are discovered.

I need to know how each faction operates at this point (goals, resources, leader characteristics, etc.) before I can decide each's fate.

Pretty much this. It's too early to tell how I'll develop things at this point.

For the first playthrough, which will likely be a Qunari:

Mages - Secure, Contain, Prosecute.

Templars - My battle brothers.

Seekers - Better not get in my way.

The Chantry - So long as they do nothing wrong I won't harm them.

Orlesian Loyalist (Celene's Faction) - We'll see.

Orlesian Patriots (Gaspard's Faction) - We'll see.

Elven Rebels - If their cause is just I will help.

Dalish Elves - I'll leave them be, might support depending on scenario.

Grey Wardens - Support in every way I can.

Tevinter - Dead. Damn mages.

Qunari - Given the chance I will aid them despite probably not being of the Qun myself.

Fereldan - Support depending on scenario.

Antivan Crow's - Unless I can get assassination jobs from them they're dead.

For me, I'd need to get more information about each specific conflict like what their goals are, their resources, who's leading them, etc. before I could make a decision.  It would also depend on the situation as well.

In DA2 for example, I always ended up siding with the mages at the end due to Meredith going batshit crazy at the end and tying the crimes of an apostate to the Circle of Kirkwall even though they have no connections.

Mages - Returned to the Towers. Rebel mages who refuse to bend the knee will die or be made tranquil.

Templars - Returned to their role of protecting the mages. Templars who go beyond their mandate to both protect mages and society, and instead abuse their charges, will die.

Elven rebels - The Inquisitor will sympathize with the plight of the elves, and should any in positions of power ask his opinion, he'll voice support for an end to the alienages and the elves gaining equal treatment under the law. Elves who seek to enact change however through violent means like rebellion, will have signed their own death warrants. Revolts will be crushed mercilessly and anyone who sows chaos and disorder in the realm can expect no quarter.

Dalish Elves - This depends on what the clan(s) encountered are up to. If they are minding their own business he'll have no problem with them, and would defend them against humans infringing on their rights. If they are involved in attacks on humans they'll be crushed.

Seekers - Unsure. I assume they are going to be part of the Inquisition, but I guess we'll have to wait and see.

The Chantry - The Inquisitor will be secular rather than pious and question whether the Maker exists (agnostic), but he'll support the role the Chantry plays in helping to maintain some order in society in Thedas. He won't be seeking to tear down the Chantry or radically alter society.

Orlesian Loyalists - Unless the plot forces the Inquisitor and Celene into opposition, he'll pledge an oath of loyalty to her. She is the rightful ruler of Orlais. Her enemies will be his enemies.

Orlesian Patriots: Gaspard is a traitor to the realm and and for that he must die.

Grey Wardens: Unsure. I'll say neutral for right now, but that depends on what they are up to in DA:I.

Tevinter: Unsure. Neutral also for right now, but it also depends on what the nation is up to in DA:I. The Inquisitor will mildly disprove of Tevinter's political system, where mages not only exist outside the towers but rule.

Qunari: They are a threat to all of Thedas. Unless their goals happen to align with the Inquisitor's, he'll seek to undermine them at every opportunity. He'll view the Qun and its caste system with scorn and will not be diplomatic about it when conversing with Qunari.

Ferelden - Unsure. It depends on whether or not the Inquisitor is from Ferelden, Orlais, whether he has pledged allegiance to Celene, and what the nation of Ferelden is up to in DA:I.

Antivan Crows: He'll view assassins as murderous scum whose loyalty can be bought by the highest bidder, but he'll also view them as a potentially useful tool. He wouldn't hesitate to employ assassins to eliminate rivals or enemies who threaten the security of the realm, even though he may view assassins with private disdain.
