Honestly, i'm kind of glad, that my main Shep is a Female and therefore in no way tempted to even consider Tali an LI.

Ash however may suffer a sever loss against all of the Options given to my 2nd, male, Shepard.

Having seen just how adorable Tali is, I don't even care if I have to break things off with Liara and/or Ashley. I will. And I won't regret it one itty bitty bit. Sorry, ladies, but Tali goes that extra mile and appears to met you half-way there... so your little "ooh, I'm a blue alien virgin" and "let me read you poetry" tricks won't win you any more points.

You don't have another playthrough where Shep is single?

I don't remember that comment...I thought he said if you cheated you'd become a statistic...of course I'm sure I've missed some of the comments.

I think it's a tad ridiculous to go through all of the events of Mass Effect one, just to create a Mass Effect save where your Shepard is single out of all the decisions you have to largely repeat.  I also don't regret my Shepard's romance with Ashley.  I just hope that there's an option to handle the fact that Shepard has feelings for two women maturely.

A break-up scene, some tears, and maybe some understanding.

IT  *IS* possible for a partner to understand that their lover has moved on.

Especially when you(Shepard) have been labeled as KIA for two whole years.  You mean to tell me that Ashley hasn't moved on *at all*?  Liara... I could understand her being a bit hung up on the relationship.  Two years is nothing to someone that can live for a thousand.  Even so.  You're dead.  They knew you were dead.  When you show up after two years... I really hope there's an option to break it cleanly to allow for persuing someone that's more appealing to your Shepard.

Exactly.  Should you be punished for cheating? Yes.  Could the story also give you the option to bow out of your ME1 relationship? Yes.  I don't see how having it only as cheat/not cheat/never have an LI in the first place gives any choices let alone consequences.  By this rationale, I would either be married to my first girlfriend/ going through a horrible divorce with my first girlfriend (now ex-wife) for infidelity/ or living in a monastery.

Break up with Liara, ffs.

There's no punishment for cheating on your LI, regardless of whether or not you tell her it's over beforehand.

Damn; I'm a statistic on a web page, I can't play this game anymore!
Damn; I got an achievement, my ME experience is ruined forever!

Do you people really consider this "punishment"? It's no detriment to your game, in fact, it enriches it. (Not the stats or achievement, the story element.)

I can see it now. Ash walks in on shep and tali, screams profantiy, coughs on tali who gets sick and dies then leaves shep alone and sad for ME3.

But id be fine if shep just got a punch to the face. Or a biotic push to the wall by liara

Ok you're right.  Using the term "punished" is silly in this context.

but will Mass effect 2 let you load two saved data's from the same career?

because i really want to romance both Tali and Ash and the other new characters.

I've heard Liara tries to dump you in ME2 anyways. Just let her do it.

If that's true, I'll do it.

I know there is hardship in breaking up with someone in favour of someone else. I just hope that those of us who find new love in ME2 aren't rewarded with nothing but hardship.

I recently finished what I thought was going to be my perfect playthrough in preparation for ME2. I don't want to have to do another one just to avoid getting involved with anyone in ME1 (at least not for some time - a thorough playthrough takes time, and I'd rather not have to do ti all again so soon). If it had been outright stated sooner that Tali would be an LI, I would have gladly refused both Ash and Liara. But how was I to know? Sure, there were hints, but it's like the possibility of the pre-order bonuses becoming premium DLC later on; maybe it will, maybe it won't.

Anyway, I understand that there will be problems in ME3 if we cheat, but I hope we don't just get problems.

Oh, and I don't mind letting others know I'm a cheater, I just hope that the new relationship can work well in ME3.

Honestly I don't know why they'd make a large deal about it...You've been "dead" for a couple years now. I am honestly finding it hard to believe that they haven't moved on yet (Maybe with the exception of Liara due to Asari being long lived, two years isn't a long time)

I am just annoyed a choice that I made in ME1 will effect me negatively when I am given more options, if I new there would be consequences then all sheps would be single, but you find out just before ME2, if I cant end it before I romance someone else im sending ash back to virmire. Besides the cant just have 2 options in ME 1 then remove them in ME2 ggive ou other options and blame me for picking one, again its probobally worth it.

Op is that really true? because the way they sideline the li's in Me2, based on how they present their involvement, we're being punished for not cheating.

You don't want to feel like a bad person, but hey, there are consequences for your actions - just accept that you have to break up and hurt your former LI's feelings or have them yell at you/take it badly/whatever.

In the first issue of Redemption, Liara is told by Cerberus about their plans to bring Shepard back, so she at least knows there's a possibility that you will return.

Considering physical contact isn't required for the Asari to procreate, you will probably have a kid with Liara if you choose her.

That's why I'm replaying my ME1 file.

So here's a question... what if I play the same career through 3 or 4 times and make different choices, romance included? Can I upload any set of decisions or just the most recent?

Slightly confused, I never really understand how you could be so attracted to something that essentially doesn't have a face... Like courting a geth that can talk.

I like how people down play the possible ramifications of cheating on your ME LI's. I mean, let's ignore the fact you have Liara, simple and sweet and cute on the surface, a butchering beast of a woman underneath if you rile her ire (Redemption anyone? I still feel sorry for that poor Batarian, kinda, he did deserve what he got.)

Or Ashley. The chick has guns, y'know.

Obviously there is only one conclusion.

Just don't come back from kicking the **** out of the collectors, they'll never find you wherever the hell the collectors congregate.

There should be a way to avoid getting caught or to avoid having it screw up your relationships.

If Shepard was caught cheating, he could just check into sex addiction rehab and everything would be fine.

Cheating reprecussions would be a nice touch. :)

I'll never cheat on my ME1 LI's. NEVER.

I have a bunch of single Shepards ready for action.

I don't understand what you are complaining about. You can choose a new LI in ME2 if you want, but your choice will effect you in ME3.(supposedly, I haven't personally read that about ME3).

Two years and one little romance in ME1 should not have any major or moderate repercussions.....

You tell me that after two years and a short time intrest will make you bad..... Then Batman is a dam monster in comparison that should have been killed years ago.....
