Not using the smart choke on ANY* shotgun that can benefit from it in the usual way was punishable by death in the empire.

 

If you need a choke on a Wraith, I'd have to suggest a nice big cup of L2Aim

I think the Smart Choke is a mandatory attachment on the Wraith.. bc it is very often the difference between a OSK and having to wait for the second shot, which gives Marauder Shields and Captain Barriers a window to waste me. The Wraith also needs to headshot to OSK a lot of enemies, and heads are small, so my spread needs to be small, thus.. Smart Choke is mandatory IMO.

And yeah, that makes sense. I usually use my Wraith on casters so I finish off mooks with powers, but if someone uses it on a weapons kit the smart choke would be too good to pass on.

I agree. But my all-melee-all-the-time Kroguard doesn't. High Velocity Barrel and Omni-Blade or GTFO.

 

But in every other case I take the Smart Choke.

Well... Look at it this way. If you equipped a smart choke on your caster as well, you might have got a OHK on that mook at medium range, and you could have used the power on something else... Which is usually around. Taking away half the accuracy from the Wraith is taking away one of the few things that make her superior to other shotguns, in my opinion.

About Wraith, the only time I would skip smart choke is if I'm using it with a melee build. Then I would replace it with omni-blade.

What I learned on BSN today. The Claymore needs to be smart choked. It is an overrated weapon yet is still the tool of the devil if you result to reload canceling. Boogieman apparently hates moms; apparently mom won't be getting that fabulous Christmas card that I was hoping for(not sure Hallmark makes facefuck cards?).

I'm legitimately glad this thread got to 10 pages; also happy 5 of them managed to be about the High Lord 

 

Also, for my money, and this is something I just realized w/ some tests myself recently, the SC benefits every pellet based shotgun not named the lolReegar. Even though it's less necessary on some than it is on others, it'll benefit them regardless, even the already-pretty-accurate-Wraith. B/c why be pretty accurate when you can be a shotsniper?

I also don't use the choke on my melee Shadow (Omni Blade and HVB), but I'm mostly using the Wraith for dropping shields or shooting bosses anyway on that build.  Heavy Melee makes headshots unnecessary.
