I agree. Either just call her Inquisitor, or start calling male Inquisitor, MalInq. And since MalInq(ManInq?) looks awful typed out and creates gender divided bullcrao, I really support calling her just The Inquisitor.
If you keep calling her femInq instead of The Inquisitor, while male Inquisitor is just The Inquisitor, you're pretty much declaring the male default and canon while female Inquisitor is alternate and non-canon.
This. This is what happened with Mass Effect and it pissed me off so much.

See EA marketing! It's not that hard.
I don't see male gamers fleeing in droves because there's a woman in the promotional material.
I was just about to cancel my preorder, but then I saw this comment and felt terribly guilty.

For all we know, that guy is sporting a Cheshire cat smile.I vote we go smug for female, grumpy for male. because it fits the picture so well.

I didn't really care about the gender shown in the marketing material because it doesn't influence my game, however I'm glad that the presence of the female inquisitor in art is making a lot of people happy.
Just waiting on that female Qunari... ![]()

The hat is essential for successful persuasion checks. No matter how sexy that Feminquisitor pose is, that hat is still goddamn ugly.

I've opted to play a female protagonist for the first time ever... and while I thought I was set on an elf I find myself leaning more and more towards a qunari now...

I'll definitely play the Femquisitor. For me, the much more interesting choice is between "change, chaos, rebirth" and "tradition, order, power." Both have good sides and bad sides. It's not a question of choosing between good and evil but of finding a particular good more desirable, and a particular drawback less problematic, than the other. And I'm honestly not sure which approach I would take. I value tradition and order, but not to the point of totalitarianism. Trying to stop the natural process of change and rebirth is wrong and strangles society - but, at the same time, I don't want people to be subjected to chaos. Just these six words honestly intrigue me more than nearly everything I've seen about this game. They remind me in particular of the ambiguity surrounding the choice that Morrigan offers at the end of DA:O.

Oh, dear Maker. I have an unhealthy obsession with that face. It's just... so... perfect. ![]()
If the in-game default human Femquisitor looks like that, I'll have to commit a save to that character.
What a babe.
See, even Blob thinks it's good!

As one who just about always avoids the default, if the default is as satisfying as the concept art, this might be the first time I ever skipped the character creator.
See, even Blob thinks it's good!
Cherish this moment, my friend. It may never happen again.

"Lady Inquisitor"? What, did the last thirty years not happen to you? However in tons of threads (particularly that one requesting to see more of the Lady inquisitor) people refer to them as "male Inquisitor" and "female Inquisitor", with multiple variations of both.

Exactly. Having Lightening on the cover hasn't damaged FFX13 sales. It's all about how it's handled. It's good to see Bioware heading in this direction.

I'd still like to see a game where you can choose between a male and female protag, and the female variant is the first, and possibly only, version of the protagonist that gets featured in the pre-release material.See EA marketing! It's not that hard.

I don't really care all that much about box art besides the eye candies.
Featuring a female or male on it? Well as long as you get to pick what's it matter? I would say I'm glad they are going gender neutral for DA:I as it will make some happy, but this thread makes it evident that some folks will want themselves to be catered to regardless.

I am 90% sure you're at least half-joking. I, however, am not. And will not. Wrong time, place, and topic.Never gonna to happen. Now you gonna to have to pray for that blasphemy, five males and you are forgiven!
Edit to add: I expressed an opinion, and if you want to have a serious discussion about that opinion, that's fair. But that borders, at the very least, on issues that I'm far from comfortable joking about.

FF13 is the closest I've seen to that. Lightening was all over the promotional materials and the cover. But as soon as the game opened up you could completely leave her off your team if you wanted to. I thought that was pretty cool.

Actually I was indeed joking, I mean I just sometimes get so tried of the same thing happen again and again, that sarcasms and jokes is all that I have left.
I agree with you but for what I have seen they do not believe the female option sells, otherwise they would put her on the marketing as much as the Manquisitor. So yes I am bitter about that.

Can I just... That is a LOVELY thing to say, particularly because the "well I don't care about this therefore I don't understand why you do" idiotic crap has been flung around like poo-poo missiles every time someone brings up something they care about, particularly in gender discussions.
I think your attitude is the best.
