it's basically Zelda:OoT, God of War and Devil May Cry combined. It's a really fun game. Check this review out shows what the game was influenced by. Plus you play as one of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse how awesome is that

I rather enjoyed it. I picked it up at the same time as Bayonetta. It kind of pales in comparison next to Bayonetta, but it's a very well-made game. Though it's not one I'd have reason to play through again, so you may want to give it a rental, or wait for a price drop.
As for gameplay, yes. Zelda + God of War. It borrows heavily from both games. Especially in the way some of the dungeons are set up with this game's version of the hookshot in mind. Portal gun is full of win, though.

I picked up the game, I havent really played it too much but so far it isnt that great. It does have an interesting style but so far the game has really been just another hack and slash. I will give it a bit more of a chance though, as I said I havent played to much of it.
But on a side note does anyone agree that War looks like he would fit perfectly into World of Warcraft?
