Everybody has been talking about cheating this and cheating that. What I want to know is can we simply break up with our ME LI so we don't have to cheat?

i would recommend you wait till the game has officially come out which in just a few (long) days.
from what i know so far, you can create a love interest with the new characters in the game. is that what you're wanting to know???

I asked a similar question and someone told me that yes, you can indeed break off relations with your previous LI is you choose to. I asked for a source and but he was reluctant to answer, perhaps got it off a live stream.

It's actually pretty silly to think otherwise, unless your LI was dead, why wouldn't BW make it a dialog option?
