Maybe we are all pronouncing Kasumi wrong, assuming its of Japanese origin. It could be pronounced many different ways, thus allowing any Race or Gender.

Could be...

Kuh-soo-mee (as we are assuming)

Kass-uhm-eye (which seems cool sounding)

or many other ways

Kasumi is a Japanese name that roughly translates to mist in English.

Which can only mean one thing...

HANAR SQUADMATE!!!

I doubt a 2 yr old Asari is combat worthy <_<

Two year old asari are still in their larval stage. They consume nutrients through a thin dermal membrane after breaking down whatever they come in contact with using a highly cuastic base secreted from their pores. While generally frowned upon by adult asari, such pupae can be used as a weapon; just throw them at an opponent and anywhere they make skin contact instantly starts to cause tissue damage. They can even break down all but the strongest armours. It's not until after the asari emerge from their caccoon that they reach what's commonly refered to as the "sexbomb" phase of their life cycle.

As an aside, asari playpens need to made out of glass just to prevent the parents from having to purchase a new one every third day.

Ha!  This topic answers the dirty dozen topic that we had to guess who the secret dirty dozen is, it wasn't legion, it was kasumi!

When I read the name Kasumi I for some reason picture a 20-something year old Japanese ninja girl with giant boobs and a skimpy outfit.

This is agreeable to me.

Legion is on the list, too.

Doesn't Kasumi mean mist? Probably doesn't have anything to do with the character, but who knows.

Probably this. But then, wouldn't the other temp. squadmate you get at the beginning of ME2 also be on the list?

Guys... this is a build from May of last year. A lot can change between now and then. The DLC character may just have been in the build to get him working, or they decided to add him as DLC later.

I would take the list with a grain of salt...

kasumi is the character Bioware said we would have to wait and get the game to find out who it is. Remember they said we don't know ALL of the recruits. I think its probably that male quarian that Adam Baldwin played. Could be wrong though.

Since Mordin is not on the list, I think it's most probable that Kasumi is Mordin. Perhaps it's his last name or an old name the Devs gave him, etc.

Mordin a woman from Japan? That would've been a hell of an inside joke.

Well it's interesting, from some sources I heard there was 2 unrevealed Characters, I assumed one is Legion and the other was Zaeed as I knew before the Zaeed announcement. Now maybe it was Legion and Kasumi?

My feeling has always been that you can only have 10 Characters and some leave if you decide to take others on, like DAO. Of course I only thought that would apply to Legion.

SuZe is on that list as "Jack".

I don't see why it could be any less plausible for "Kasumi" to refer to Mordin.

How much you wana bet that Dead or Alive gets a character from Mass Effect 2? I mean they did the same thing for Halo 3, we get Hybusa armor and they get a Spartan.

I thought Jack was supposed to be some sort of Jacqueline diminutive. Whether there is any way Kasumi could fit a (alien) man, I have no idea.
