Why would you NOT want a sexy asian ninja lady on your squad? Yeah, there's 5 humans already, but a) this is Cerberus we're talking about and they're very pro-human, the Collectors are only abducting human colonists so it makes no sense for there to be more aliens helping stop them than humans and c) why would you want ANOTHER turian or ANOTHER asari or ANOTHER drell when there has NEVER been an ASIAN squad member in ME?



Although a sexy ROBOT ninja lady would also be an acceptable substitute...

Because I don't see Bioware so blatantly referencing something so incredibly overdone - to whit, Kasumi the "sexy asian" ninja. And, with a universe full of interesting alien races and synthetics, 5 humans would be yawn-tastic. Who cares that it's Cerberus? They could quite easily create/steal a mech of the LOKI/FENRIS/YMIR line and reprogram it.

I will be very disappointed if they go make the reference in Kasumi be to a terrible character of subpar games that pander to adolescent males (And I say that as one myself) and rather to the actual meaning of the name, or even make the name almost irrelevant (dev title maybe?) for something more interesting.

If Kasumi is a Japanese-like character, I hope they make her at least sound Japanese or pronounce Japanese suffixes (like -san or -sama) correctly.

Just wanted to say that I've emailed EA with regards to the content of the original article and once I hear back from them, and they have said they'll be emailing me, I'll be sure to drop in and let you guys and gals here know.



Just to clarify some points, Reece from above is the Reece listed in my original article. The build I demoed with the OLC team at GamesCom did indeed have all these names listed from the 20thMay build. The reason I didn't post this back in August was because, well, several reasons.



As a Mass Effect fan I didn't want to step on Bioware's toes. If you think about it, would you have preferred those details spoiled so far in advance? I know I didn't. And that's part of the reason why I didn't put in my usual review request - I want to play the game on my own terms, not a review deadlines.



Another reason? Whilst I didn't sign an NDA for this session (it was the public show-floor, not our closed doors session) it would have been unprofessional to spoil their rollout just for one traffic driver.



Anyway, now that we've possibly let the cat out of the bag on Kasumi I'm glad you're all coming up with some awesome ideas on who they might be.

Kasumi could have been a character the initially wrote and then wrote out of the game, I could not imagine that we would have DLC characters, except those day one characters which are already wrote into the game.
