Why did Jesse say that the Hammerhead is tied into the storyline?  How does that make any sense when it is DLC?

Because it's free and everyone gets it?

How can DLC be tied into the storyline?

Just like the Dragon age DLCs merge seamlessly with the story. Seriously, don't worry about it.

Ermm, like how Dragon Age's DLC is tied in the story. Like how Bring Down the Sky was tied into ME1. I don't see a problem here.

BDtS wasn't really tied into the storyline.

BDtS was to tied into the story the same that any other side mission was.

Poor example, think more like shale. That character was fully integrated into the story. Same thing here... except it's a tank, rather than a golem

Again it's not really tied into the storyline. Almost all of the sidemissions were independent and stood on their own.

I don't mean it's required part of the main story, it's a side mission like any other and fits into the game just as well, so it's a part of the story if you choose.

you have to ask such a silly question? This is bioware or have you forgotten? Their track record for making excellent games is impeccable

I don't know what game you played but it definitely wasn't mass effect

Um, yes.  All of the sidemissions were at best background info and never tied into the main storyline.

Doesn't matter, they're still a part of Shepard's story if you choose to do them. Therefore, they're an optional part of the storyline.
