The way the last games turn more towards a broader type of gamers. Thus invite people to these board that are of different feather as the ones of the old days so to speak.
The number of people here has increased fast. I am 37 and come from the old school, like Planescape Torment wise. I
Still the crowd is different, alas.
And yes if my father would get hold of my fora account's (always Merlanni) I am in trouble. If he sees some post of mine in the off topic treads at sorcerers we will have words. So I know how the kid/person feels. Non of my family knows my passwords.
When I look at the symbols some use, I indeed feel old, when I still say it with words.
The current behavior on this site is unacceptable

I wonder, are the olders posters from the times of the first Bioware games getting old?,
You mean the ones who still follow the forum rules and terms of service? Age doesn't have much to do with following the rules though. On another forum one member was really well behaved, polite, and helpful; then like Jekyll and Hyde, he posted like a hyper kid that just drank a case of red bull to wash down the five pounds of sugar he ate; spammed, insulted everyone, and generally behaved like an ass. The moderators sent him an email, basically saying "What the heck is going on?" and found out that the calm, reasonable, rule-abiding poster was 14 years old. The hyper jerk was the father who used the kid's account. The kid was told to make a new account, cause his dad was not going to last long the way he was acting.
It was very cool of that site's Mods to help the 14 year old with the problem & not hold the 14 year old responsible for the bad dad's actions.

I'm also of the opinion that social.bioware.com forums are much less friendly than forums.bioware.com were. While I wouldn't call myself a regular poster on either the old or new forums I definitely am less inclined to post on social.bioware.com than I was on forums.bioware.com.

This is not like the BW forums of old I used to enjoy visiting, in years past. Frankly this site resembles an a typical EA forum, shot me for saying it, but it does. I may not have posted here all that much over the years, but I have always enjoyed the relatively friendly and mature community it once had. Unfortunately these boards are fast approaching a level juvenile behavior I would of normally associated with BNet.

I'd say that the low quality has a lot more to do with the lack of interaction between BioWare, EA and their community, leading to a lot of pissed off fans, but what do I know!Wompoo wrote...

See: this thread. No official response at all desite the thread being both lengthy and extremely important in terms of discussion. I feel at this point like the only way to actually get my comments/feedback/complaints noticed at all is to be a flippant dick about it.

I found this thread interesting because over in the FIFA forums, which is also EA, there has been growing displeasure with the state of the forums. People get away with more than they used to, and 80 percent of the FIFA forums is now a flame-fest.
My guess is maybe the declining financial status of EA has led to cuts in customer relations. It certainly feels that way.

If EA wants to quit losing money, they need to bother keeping their stuff maintenanced, including these Forums.
