Well first, ME2 SPOILER ALERT!









Secondly, I haven't played the game yet but I did hear audio awhile back of almost the entire Normandy destruction scene and in one part - where Shepard chooses to go back for Joker - you can choose to tell your ME1 LI whether you love them or not.



Not necessarily a "dump" but if you plan on romancing a new ME2 LI then it might be best not to get your ME1 LI's hopes up.
