Ah, but who could pass on such beautiful dialogue moments that a child could bring you?

Inquisitor: "You kids don't know how good you have it. When I was your age--"

Child: "Mom, the world is literally ending right now. How could you possibly have had it worse?"

I had to walk 5 miles through rain, snow, attacking demons to get a sword made.  You just have to go into our nice safe keep and get one.

If you mix a hunting game in an RPG, I'd be happy just chilling in a house with some virtual family and going out and killing challenging game. Skyrim has that to an extent, but the wildlife isn't challenging enough. In addition, you'd need a robust crafting game. Skyrim attempted this a bit with the housebuilding thing, but I'd like to do other things.. like tanning or something. Or drying out beef jerky. lol

This goes beyond RPGs though. It's simulation.

No. I really don't want that. I have children in RL, I don't them recreated in digital form when I'm being an Inquisitor! Games are my escape from my (much loved) monsters and normalcy of day to day living!

lol.. Probably a good point.

I don't have a kids, but the idea frightens me. Reminds me of this Louis CK standup routine I saw, where he complained that his only free time is going to the bathroom.

While in some games this can be a nice touch its bad to bring marrage, children, and homesteading into the last chapter (at this point as a dlc add in). They need to establish this upfront in the first game and keep it, expained upon it in the game(s) afterward. Also I've yet to find a game that makes me feel like this was done to my taste on the issue in Skyrim my husband and child are robots they say hi, my child hits me up for money, and they both complain when I'm gone for 9 months. In Fable I get the same but my husband can leave me or kill himself and ditch our child in foster care. The plus to Fable was I could get pregnate/make my wife but me and my friends were joking when this new first came out as do I get to fight while I'm showing and if so for how long? I kind of liked how Red Dead Redemption wove it into the story making me an average man trying to readjust to the quiet side of life but I don't think this could be fun for long with mini games of chop wood, kill the family chicken for dinner, build a barn, and go help your neighbors with sidequests.

I love it. I'm tired of all my protagonists being soldiers, who fight wars, and kill and fight... the end. I want a more emotional one who can decide that he values love and family for a change.

I'm more inclined toward having dialogue available where you discuss your happy ending with your love interest rather than seeing it played out in-game.  Conversations on where you see yourselves etc after you defeat The Big Bad, yadda yadda.  That way you can get your "I wants to have ALL the babies!" or your "None shall pass from betwixt my thighs!" opinions out.

I'd rather collect pets, tbh.

The whole baby thing is squicky to me. Not everyone wants to be a broodmother.

But I wouldn't object to having time to enjoy pets, significant other, etc. Or a Skyrim-level-of-commitment adoption, I suppose.

Pets? agreed. A sarlacc could make a nice pet though.

Right. Because Skyrim's marriage and child rearing mechanics were just so deep and entertaining that we need a repeat of them.

Could we also bring back some of that horse armor DLC from Oblivion while we're at it?

^ That was kinda my point. I don't see that raising kids in a video game has much if a place, unless you're playing it for that reason. I am not. ;)

Of Course we do, and the horse included.
