With all this talks of Demons, Qunari invasions and other threats I think we tend to forget about one of the most dangerous threats to the world, the Darkspawn. I know we tend to forget about them when there isn't a Blight but the fact remains that they are still present. They have nearly destroyed the world five times and only thanks to the Grey Wardens does Thedas still survive. This is not a forum to understanding their origins, but rather what influence if any they might have in Inquisition. What will the Architect or his Disciples be? Will they be an ally or a new enemy to combat? Remember there is still two (possible three/Old God Baby) Old Gods who may become Archdemons, will we see another Blight in the future? And don't forget about Corypheus the old magister. He escapes regardless of your actions but which body does he escape in and how will it affect the Wardens or the Darkspawn. Your thoughts and comments are appreciated and I apologize if anyone has started a similar topic.
Darkspawn in Inquisition

It would be cool to see the Architect and the Awakened Darkspawn again. See how they are doing at trying to reform their kind.

They will probably mooks for some quests, the same as in DA2. Even Corypheus was just a DLC villain. However, given that we'll have a Grey Warden companion and there's every likelihood that we may end up fighting Wardens, I expect at least more lore about the order and their enemies.
Corypheus may appear in DA:I, but there's also the possibility that Bioware might want to save him for a more Warden-centric game or for a game set in the Anderfels (which would be more Warden-centric, yes). About the Blights, my guess is that there will be a future game with a Blight in it. Heck, maybe even a double-Blight at the same time, with two Archdemons waking up.

I personally hope that players can recruit Awakened Darkspawn as allies; or at the very least the Messenger.
As far as the overall Darkspawn are concerned, I am curious how the Fade Tear and invading demons will react to the Darkspawn and their Taint. The Fade magic and the spells powered by the Darkspawn Taint, while not anathema, are using two widely different sources of power.

i always killed the architect after reading the calling... i just couldnt bring myself to ally with him.... We will probably see them in some form in this game, but not as a major story device... unless it is tied to the wardens

Hopefully The Architect is awakening more Darkspawn resulting in more civil wars among their race as My Warden intended.. Anyway the worst blight will be after the last Archdemon is killed and The Darkspawn dont have the calling and seeking out the old gods to keep them underground.
Then they will all travel to the surface in huge numbers and there will be no head to cut off the snake and the only remaining option will be the total eradication of the darkspawn...Won't be pretty for thedas when the 8th Blight happens.

I hope the Architect makes real progress. And if not cure the darkspawn, at least let these factions distract one another that they just fight themselves underground.
I'd rather not see a 6th Blight. Whether soon or hundreds of years from now. If only because that story is played out. It's been told and served as a good intro to Dragon Age, but there's so many cooler things in the rest of Thedas. I'd rather see Dragon Age expand like Dungeons and Dragons or something.. with hundreds of potential stories. Rather than be dragged down by Grey Wardens and darkspawn.

well, they can only fit so many games into one age... they only last 100 years... and we are already around 9:40... so we only have 60 years to play with and if they continue with stories taking 10 years or more, thats only a few more games till they have to drop the name dragon age and go with the new ages name

Eh, Alistair could be killed in Origins yet he has his 3 cameos in DA2 and the one in Awakening. Same with Zevran, and the quest in DA2 if you picked King Bhelen..
I doubt we will get anything besides a throw away line of Dialogue though.

He could always pull a body hop like Corypheus or the Archdemons do.

No, more he jumped to a nearby Darkspawn and escaped.

True, i really hope he returns, his story arc has too much potential to let go

I actually would very much like to find out what happens in Thedas proper and the fade if the last archdemon is killed, if anything. Plus, that's really the point when the OGB would have actual interesting relevance. At the moment we' only find out if the kid's from the Omen or not.

Oh thank goodness, I thought this was another "Darkspawn companion polx" thread.
I doubt we will see any Archdemons orchestrating blights but we'll definitely find and fight roving bands of Darkspawn during expeditions to the deep roads.

We will probably see at least an Ogre. How else will Flemeth know when to save us if we don't kill our first Ogre. ![]()

What if the Blight is really the embodiment of Dumat and his corruption of all the other Old Gods that eventually leads to their downfall is him gathering their power as a means to return as something even more powerful, but because of the Dark Ritual (if performed), Urthemial is saved from being absorbed into Dumat's essence and is being raised to eventually fight him, what if Flemeth was one of the Old Gods who uncovered this plot and in the process seeks out to ensure Dumat doesn't gain the influence and power he needs to return as something more sinister?
Take this with a grain of salt, I sometimes don't even know what I'm talking about.

I' like someone in-game to figure out that summoning Flemeth is as simple as menacing the PC with an ogre. Heck, this is the perfect game for it too-- an organization has a lot more resources to go out and capture ogres and keep them in cages in case someone needs to speak to her.
....what if Morrigan is the one to save you this time???

I'd like to have the Awakened Darkspawn as allies if you recruit the Grey Wardens. Hell, it'd be nice to maybe even lend the Inquisitions resources to them and maybe find a way to stop the spread of taint.

I've always viewed the Architect as someone who would take precautions especially after The Calling
Plus he still seems more than just a Darkspawn
