Why do half of the suggestions have 8 LI's?  Did they announce something that would suggest that we have twice as many LI's than the last game?  Because if not, it just seems like way too many LI's given what little they've told us.

At first I was staunchly in the "the elves will be bisexual" camp, but I'm coming around to the "the NPCs will be bisexual" side instead. Most players would rather be stuck with an elf than stuck with a NPC. I'm stuck with a NPC regardless. Well, for my first playthrough, anyway.

Of course, the unpleasant possibility still exists that there are four companion love interests and Cullen is an "extra" like Sebastian.

Er,I don't think the devs would make a potential LI gay/straight/bi for the sole reason to troll a portion of the fans.

 

As for my predictions,I truly have no clue since I can't tell the orientation of characters I've only seen in pics.But I assume that If we have the 2/2/2 system I think at least one of the elves (or any other possible non-human LI),will be one of the bi options.

 

If we have four human LI's and only two LI's  from a different race, then I expect two of the humans to be straight and two gay,while the elf/qunari LI (I'm not counting Varric since I'm almost convinced that,he either isn't a LI or he's femdwarf exclusive) will be the bi option.
I also agree with the suggestion that the npc romances could possible be the bi options (provided that Scribles is also romanceable,Cullen could be the only npc romance,as far as I know).

I hope he is straight so I can have a teasing round two with my gay friend. No Alistair and no Cullen for you beeeeetch. Probably straight. I mean come on, man2man is something the mages do when they are possessed.

I get the vibe that past the rough exterior she is a hopeless romantic. Need to find her Journal. 100% she is the Journal girl. My dear journal, is it wrong to have these feelings? She likes the heroic stories and stuff, sismance? Teach me how to be like you? Dunno. Probably straight tho.

I think that if you try hard enough you can kiss her. Bioware likes to do this. If I had the option I'd be filthy flirty with her Morrigan Sten Style. Got a thing for tough serious women turning me down again and again and again and again. I'm expecting a really silly teehee sidequest. Childish rivalry? Fashion? 

 

-Varric Let me tell you a story about dwarven wenches.

Ok this guy is fun and best pal and all but I think we will see some romantic involvement from his part. Perhaps not with the Inquisitor although the dwarven female can be a thing. But we will have to find him a partner. It's either that or he's gonna become a cook. Can't see any other possible outcome for this guy.

There is this picture of him, comic style, don't remember specifics, that he looks like the northman that really likes beer. Oghren's friend? Naa, not dwarf enough.

Probably straight, but I have a hard time picturing these guys as bi or gay. Qunari at least, they are all about efficiency. Being gay is the furthest thing from it. But he is Vashoth.

So I'm thinking bioware is going to do it. You know. The racemance. Varric to dwarf, Bull to Qunari. I mean, it's not like its a big decision or something. Lets say for arguements sake, that you are a warrior, skilled, handpicked. And some compatible to your orientation individual, especially same race, that the future of the world rests on his/her shoulders, shows clear interest in you. WHAT DO YOU DO? At the very least you talk about it. I'd think that apocalypse tends to bring people together. But that's just me.

I think the community will make the choice for her. Everyone seems to want her to be Samantha 2.0 and she probably will. But I'd say bi. And instead...

 

Sera Lez be Totally honest.

I think she is going to be the lez. I always had this idea, that rogues in this game start as playing only for the one side and then develop an appreciation for the other due to circumstances. I honestly think that all the bi rogues lean on the straight side more. Zevran is the closest to true bi. He is almost philosophical about it. Leliana had Marjolaine but I think she is easier to romance as male rather than female in DAO and Isabela seem to think of it as good fun. I'd like to see Sera breaking the rules. Going full honest ;p .

 

Dorian guy Bi

Shot in the dark. Tevinter whatever guy, as much as he likes to rebel he should know how to have fun. Isn't that what magisters are about? Fun and total world domination? Na don't know.

This guy got to be Zevran beta build. No chance he can beat the master elf but he will try. And he will fail. Anything goes.

Please bioware. Pretty please? Need that french accent whispering bard stuff in my ear. It would be really cruel to put her in the game and keep her away from me.

 

Actually I chose Morrigan in DAO cause it really seemed a better fit.. Dunno, I feel like she and Warden were meant to be. Psycho ****** and dumb savior together forever.

I've already read stuff from the devs saying that they want to do what's best for each character, rather than fit them into what the fans want. It's why they're putting in orientations to begin with.

 

I get less and less sure of a 2/2/2 split every day. Makes me wonder if they'll put in only one straight option. Or just a gay character, but no lesbian. Or vice-vera.

 

Also, I hadn't thought of giving Vivienne the Samara treatment. Not have much romance, but maybe a few lines to indicate the chance at something more. It's something I can see them doing with her.

That does remind me, however, does anyone else think there will be a Anora-ish romance with Celene. I mean, she's shown she's willing to make a political marriage in the past(Return to Ostagar), and not make one even if it makes some level of sense(Masked Empire). But she's also shown she likes elven ladies(Masked Empire, again). Makes me wonder how she'd react to an Inquisitor of any race or gender.

 

What other romances(if any) would Bioware offer outside of the main party. You know there will be a brothel. There's always a brothel.

Hm. As a wish list, that seems great. As a realistic prediction, that just seems crazy. That's, literally 10 out of the 12 major characters in your keep being romanceable with only Cole and Leliana being excluded. Seems like way too many. I'm not sure I would like that because, given that they've indicated that romance resources are ably the same between games, that would mean much less content for each romance if they are going to double the amount of romances.

I'd rather four to six options with more content than eight to ten options with less content, personally.

Idk. Just my opinion. I find the warden guy or the dhmg OR even iron bull as much more interesting potentials for mm

 

Likewise, I can only hope Vivienne is a romance for either my mf or ff inquisitor.

Guess #1:

Cullen & Scribbles - Both Sex

Solas/Varric/IB & Cass - Opposite Sex

DHMG & Sera - Same Sex

Varric and IB probably aren't going to be LIs, but there is still a slight chance so I put them in the same bunk. I'd be okay with either of them as LIs. I don't see Varric and IB as anything but straight, but Solas I think could be either. He could be gay, but I see that more for DHMG. Cass I think could be either, but I'd be cool with either option. Bi would be a nice if not just for parallels to Leliana and convenience for lady Inquisitors not having to make a dude one if they'd rather not, but yeah.

 

I can see Sera being bi, but the problem would be who her male alternative would be. There is no way Cass isn't going to be an option for dudes. And if Scribbles is homosexual while Cullen is heterosexual, then that gives the ladies 2 NPC romance options only and that's not fair. And I really do not see Cullen being a male only LI.

So now that we know that Sera is gay, if Solas is a love interest I believe he will be bi, because having both elves be gay would be a bit strange, and having elves only available to females would a bit skewed. This, coupled with The Iron Bull's update on the DA site and the reveal that there will be "more romances than any Bioware game", leads me to believe that perhaps IB and Solas are Bi?

My new theory:
Cullen - Straight
Solas, IB - Bi
Dorian - Gay (pleasepleaseplease)

Hmm... Scribbles - Straight
Viv, Cass - Bi
Sera - Gay

If IB were romanceable by dudes, I would definitely need to add a male qunquis to my list of immediate playthroughs. I think I am still way off though, I can't see companion romances being more slanted toward LGBT players than straight (male PCs have three male companions, two female, female PCs get three female companions, two males? Get real Avaflame).

Well, I'm willing to modify my guesses based on new info. Also, bear in mind that the quote from Mike Laidlaw is that there will be more romance in this game than any previous Bioware game.

Cullen(bi at most. Not a gay option)

Cassandra(Her traditionalist tendencies lead me to believe she'll be straight)

 

Bi:

Varric(Dwarf only, due to race)

Iron Bull(Qunari only, due to race)

Solas(I don't think they will make both elf companions gay)

Scribbles(Pure guess. No idea.)

 

Gay:

Dorian(as much as I prefer be be a bi option)

Sera(confirmed)

 

Non-LI

Cole(cause...well....that would just be wrong)

Vivienne(Power-focused, not a romancer)

Blackwall(His bio says he chose the Warden's life, and that remains his focus. No Warden romance in this Dragon Age game.)

I just hope that Sera be BI because I want to romance her with my male Inq. the same thing happen to me in ME3 with Traynor...and if she is only les then Cassandra is the only girl I like in the game so far.

This way everyone gets 3 options regardless of gender or orientation. It's hopeful I know but I'm crossing my fingers for 8 LI's.

Cassandra- Bi (I gather she's the "main romance"in the game,and probably the only party member who won't leave, so I don't think she's straight)

Cullen- Straight (pretty sure about that)

Solas or Iron Bull- Bi (I don't think they'll be both available but  could be wrong)
