Oh, the magic of a 2/2/4 romance system, with 4 bi romances... That would be nice, but I'm pretty sure it was confirmed that we're getting 2/2/2.
The numbers haven't been confirmed. wE just know that regardless of orientation, players will have options.

If only the warden or Iron bull were bi or gay .. or even DHMG. But not solas, not another elf as li, please...same goes to cullen (besides, npc's romances are not as thrilling as companions).

And as someone who adored Samantha, there's nothing inherently bad about NPC romance. It allows for different stories and personality types.

I'd rather have Solas than Iron Bull or the warden. To be honest, I'd even rather have Cullen as an NPC. They're just not appealing to me at all, especially Iron Bull.

I'll play the guessing game:
Heterosexual:
Cullen- he's into the ladies and hasn't made any reason for me to believe otherwise, not even in DA2
Sera- for some reason I think they'll throw a curveball and make her strictly into guys (everyone thought Jack in ME2 would be bi given stereotypes, I think Sera's going to be given that same treatment)
Bisexual:
Cassandra- she strikes me as being into both genders. I don't think it was just 'hero worship' despite what Varric says
Solas- he's an elf. All the male elven LIs have been available to both genders (Zev, Fenris, Jethann), so there's no reason for me to think this guy won't be
Homosexual:
DHMG- although I hope he's available to both (just because I plan on making a FemQuisitor and he looks to be the most interesting of all potential males), of all the companions he strikes me as being into men the most
Scribbles/Vivienne- Either the Traynor of Dragon Age or the Orlesian enchantress. Vivi because Orlesian ladies are quite known for admiring the female form from what I'm getting so far (Celene, Marjolaine, Leliana even though she's not noble, Briala, etc...).

How does everyone even "know" that Cullen had a crush on the female Amell? I recently started a female mage playthough on Origins and all I heard was the random gossip of two no-name mages and Cullen ran when my mage flirted with him, maybe he was just extremely uncomfortable with my flirting with him. Maybe he was even gay? Or am I missing an important piece of evidence...?
When you find him held prisoner in the tower later I believe he talks about the blood mages "teasing" him with images of her and feeling shame about his feelings. I'm not sure exactly what the lines are, but I'm given to believe it's heavily hinted that he had a thing for her and was trying to repress his feelings.

I think in DA2 he becomes really yearning when he mentions her.

I think the gossip part especially was meant to show that it was something everybody knew about. But, that was ambient dialogue, so even female Amell players could miss it, lol.
There's also supposedly a bit in his codex entry in DA2 about a "rumor" involving him once being infatuated with a mage, but I never saw that, even when I imported a DA:O save with a female Amell who had flirted with him.

Hmm, this means if one martyrs f!Amell in DAO, one could have a DIY Carth-syndrome romance

Thanks for the answers everyone, more stuff for me to check out! My first ever Origins game was a female circle elf years ago so I may have missed the part about desire demons torturing Cullen with her image. The only other mage character I've done in Origins was the one just recently created were I paid especially close attention to the ambient talk every time I entered a room and heard two different groups gossiping about it, but thought there was a possibility that was wrong. I've never imported a warden mage save into 2 yet so I missed that other dialog too! Guess Cullen's not gay then lol. But bi, sure why not.
I'm not sure they actually do show him her image. I think it might have been that he thinks they are when you show up. Regardless of the gender/race you play, he doesn't believe you're real when you first meet him again in the tower.

"Cullen! Don't you recognize me?"
"Only too well... how deep they must have delved into my thoughts, tempting me with the one thing I always wanted but could never have..."
That whole sequence was depressing as hell and I hated that there was no way to comfort him. No matter what you say, he stays guarded and believes all of the mages should die.

What I think if 2/2/2:
Solas: Straight
Cullen: Bi
DHMG: Gay
Cassandra: Straight
Scribbles: Bi
Sera: Gay
Possibly IB: Bi for Qunari Inquisitor
And of course, Varric for bromance.
What I would like personally:
Cullen: Straight
Solas: Bi
Dorian: Gay
Sera: Bi
Other females: Doesn't matter
I'm of the "NPCs are bisexual" camp in spirit of fairness in terms of companion availability, and while I won't be overly shocked if this isn't the case, I WOULD be shocked if Cullen is straight AND Scribbles is gay, as many have predicted. This would make two companions available to a female inquisitor, and four to a male inquisitor. I know this wouldn't be the first time it has been skewed this way, but I can't imagine Bioware would repeat that mistake knowingly.

Oh so he does or doesn't have different dialog for a female Amell during the circle quest? I remember him not believing the pc is real, I've had many playthroughs but mostly as a rouge.I'm not sure they actually do show him her image. I think it might have been that he thinks they are when you show up. Regardless of the gender/race you play, he doesn't believe you're real when you first meet him again in the tower.

Ahhhhhhh I see, disregard my previous message! Veeeery interesting. As a mage lover I'm not really a Cullen fan but I'll probably get my new mage to the circle now to hear this. She's currently resting at Flemeth's house with Alistair.

Well, I hope that Sera is romanceable for guys. She seems like a romance I'd like and I think Lobsel would be disappointed if he cannot romance an elf female with his Dalish Inquisitor. I don't see Bioware disappointing any elf fans so I see bi for Sera at least.
I see Cassandra and Cullen being straight based on previous canon.
As for the rest, I am not sure. I don't make guesses based on people's physical appearances so that really limits me.

So with my hopes/basic needs in mind.
Cassandra: heterosexual male
Sera: bi
Vivienne; lesbian
Solas: bi
Grey warden: heterosexual female
Dorian: gay male
1 npc romance(given he seems to have been announced)
Cullen: heterosexual female

Hopefully DHMG and Cullen are available for male inquisitors don't care about the rest.
A big part of why I stand behind the opinion of Cullen being the straight male LI and DHMG being the gay male LI is that it gives each camp a "conventionally" attractive option... and I think BioWare would be invested in making sure that happens.

All I know is that when the game comes out we will see many, many, MANY threads titled:
"WHY CANT I ROMANCE X AS Y!"
Ah well.
At least we know they will be coming.
As well as long posts all about how a LI is clearly straight/gay/bi!
Really I dont think we can predict right now since we have not even heard over half our followers speak even.

Meanwhile, in an alternate universe where they kept the "playersexual" model:
"WHY CAN X ROMANCE Y AS Z?!"
As well as long posts about how a LI is clearly straight/gay/bi!
