I think it's kind of all over the place, allusions wise, and given his concept, and there are going to be some people who look at him and see exactly the sort of stereotype that BW might want to avoid while others don't see it/don't care. Personally, I tend to agree with the numbers game placing him as a m/m option and he will be awesome and that will be awesome.

I feel like they'll do a 2/2/2 split but I'd love the 8 split suggested by OP. Honestly the only people I see being off limits for sure are Cole, Varric, Leliana, and Feathers if only for age reasons. A lot of people have been saying he's probably close to his Calling which makes sense.

 

If I had a female Inquisitor and one of the choices was having to die to save the world and beardy Warden decided to help me because he wanted to die with the woman he loved....I could deal with that.

Looks like someone forgot Garrus from Mass Effect. His relationship with Fem!Shep is pretty much the same as before, just with kissing and sex and the occasional inter-species 

I never played ME (nor Jade Empire or KOTOR,) so I had no idea about Garrus. <shrug>  Then I stand corrected: BioWare, for the most part, thinks that being someone's friend as well as lover can't happen.  I'm going by the NWN games, BG and Dragon Age, all of which separate "friend" from "lover" in two very distinct boxes.

You totally have to play all three of those game, Nata.  KOTOR is seriously an amazingly written game.  It's still probably my favorite game of all time.  And Jade Empire was surprisingly good.

Kreia was one of the most annoying companions I've ever had to chance to work with. Even if you shun her to the Ebon Hawk, she constantly bugs you.

I have to agree with elu on this one.  Kreia is an amazing companion.  Her voice actress did an amazing job and I loved how manipulative she was.  Plus, I kind of loved the fact that the Obi-Wan old mentor trope was subverted a bit by making the Exile's mentor be a manipulative, old, blind, one-handed, grey haired lady. 

 

I tried getting into KOTOR, but, sad as this is, the graphics are just too dated for me.  Pathetic I know, coming from someone that still plays her 8 and 16bit games, but it's something that I can't get over.  I might check out Jade Empire next time it goes on sale though.

 

That's a shame.  I understand, but it's just so good.  If you have an iphone, you can download it there now.  Maybe the graphics won't be as disappointing if you are just playing on your phone to kill time.

Jade Empire's combat is tedious, but it's not quite as dated looking as KotOR and the story is amazing.

I don't have a cell phone at all.  Seriously, I don't own one.  I do have KOTOR on my computer, but that would involve re-installing Steam and I'm going to take a pass on that.  Steam and my computer have never gotten along, with issues such as my computer crashing when I'm downloading a game.  

 

I guess the age of the graphics isn't quite my issue.  It's more of the rather creepy distorted details of the facial models that kept throwing me off.  I am going to pick up ME2 and ME3 when it comes out on sale just to see what the hell everyone is talking about.

I do, actually.  Then I tell them I barely check on my Facebook page and almost never tweet anything.  I don't have instagram nor tumblr.  Ah, Dave, it's nice to meet another person without a cell phone.
