What if an elf who underwent Uthenera woke up?

So for those who don't know Uthenera (Translates to Long Sleep or Endless Dream) refers to a ritual where elves of Arlathan would enter into a sleep like state when the grew weary of life and memories. In this state they would wake the paths of the beyond accompanied by Falon'Din and his brother Dirthamen. It also states that sometimes they would wake up from the long sleep.

So my question is what it would be like if one of them woke up now after the fall of Arlathan and the loss of most of Elven Culture. I was thinking it would be an interesting element since there is an Elven rebellion in inquisition.

What do you think?

First we have to figure out if those in Uthenera were undisturbed at the fall of Arlathan, or if Uthenera needed magic to be maintained. Or if they'd remained immortal while all the other elves didn't. It would be cool and I think it's very likely they'd go mad if they weren't getting Thedas news updates on their walk, but even if I thought Uthenera was going to be addressed in a significant capacity in the future, I think they're all dead.

They'd fall into a severe depression, when they'd find out what the Elves have become.

I think that the first thing they think is: Fen'harels balls where is the bathroom! after waking up.  And then they will likely be pissed. They likely have magic and knowledge available that would make them a powerful ally or a very severe threat.

outside of vague Codex entries I see no reason why I should believe that "Uthenera" is not some sort of death myth that the Dalsih misunderstood or got warped through generations of verbal storytelling.

It may be the Dragon Age version of Blast from the Past.

They probably wouldn't be able to walk after non using their legs for so long. And be covered in bed sores....

It can't be a myth since felasen did say that some of those in uthenera were killed by their servants.

Maybe some of them need to be reawaken out of uthenera?

I'd imagine they would yawn, look around, get called a knife-ear, be treated like a second class citizen, and be really confused.

Well, firstly, we'd have a lot of answers on what exactly this entire process involves, whether it was magical, and whether or not the Dalish mind-blowingly racist explanation for why it stopped to occur is true. The Dalish would presumably have the opportunity to learn a great deal about their culture, their heritage, etc. Assuming they could overcome the language barrier, since they don't really speak ancient "elvhen".

I always assumed it was more a European colonization type scenario where a new group arrives and brings with them new diseases that ravage the native population. This could easily make its way into oral histories as humans being near elves leading to a loss of immortality -- assuming it's the 'never dies of old age' immortality and not the 'impervious to all forms of death' flavor

It's kind of how we know that the Maker is 100% real because we have people who say that Andraste spoke to the Maker.

I hope there's something substantial about it in DAI at least.

We've had quite a few visits to old elven burial sites in the past games and still don't know anything. Possibly the Dalish ruins with the Eluvian is one, the Brecillian ruins quest has a few sections on it, Sundermount has a bit on it..

And yet we still don't know any more than we did when we started.

I would be very entertained if we discovered the ancient elves were like the Protheans.
