This thread would be way more interesting if the other 2 games would be incorporated, like an overall list.
Your order of preference (squad-mates)

In ME2, any squadmate with overload is a bonus. Kasumi's rapid shadow strike puts her above the others, imho. Other than that, they're interchangeable based on preference.

From favorite to least favorite (story-wise, not gameplay-wise), what would be your order in me3?
All hail Javik, First of His Name, Emperor of the Protheans and the Primitives, Lord of the Seven Sectors, and Protector of the Galaxy.

Westerosi-styled titles?
Would work better if you remembered that according to BW (which actually makes no sense), there are 5 relevant sectors to the galaxy. It makes no sense, since it arbitrarily shrinks the galaxy into something tiny.

I love Kasumi and her tech power recharge bonus. Fastest Overloads in space.

That's the same for me. I haven't always agreed with those three characters' character development, but they sure are useful in a combat situation.

It's odd, but unless I'm romancing Tali I hardly ever take her on a mission. Mostly because she arrives so late in ME3. I don't usually have too many more missions to do after Rannoch, and there are mandatory squadmates for two of them, so the list gets even smaller.

same. In ME3 it was mostly Garrus/Liara for combat usefulness and nostaglia. In ME2 it was mostly Garrus/Jack, for combat, and because they're bad*ss and don't give a fck.
Really this tumblr post sums up how I look at my squadmates:
http://its-slinkyvag...e-which-one-of
I wish ME3 kept the combat banter they had in ME2. Made things feel more alive, and in my first play through, it was what made me enjoy bringing Garrus and Jack the most (scratch one! fly ******! stop shooting at me! [oops])

It is unfortunate that she is recruited so late. Like Liara, her ME3 incarnation is my favorite version of her yet.
She is certainly one of the very few things I deeply appreciate about the Rannoch arc. Her line before the final mission is one of the strongest feelings I ever got in the entire series. That line alone drove me to fight to take back Rannoch.

I'm going to romance her in this game. I'm looking forward to having a more personal interest in the Rannoch arc.

ME3?
Liara and Garrus are my favourites and my go to team.
Javik
Edi
Citadel Arena
Wrex
Grunt
Samara
That pretty much covers the whole trilogy for me actually. With an honourable mention of Zaeed. He kinda' grows on ya'.

If I'm doing the whole trilogy, it's
ME1
Garrus > Tali > Kaidan (notice a theme? They can open boxes) > Ashley > Wrex >>> Liara
ME2
Mordin > Legion > Zaeed > Samara > Thane > non-sexbot EDI > Kasumi > Garrus > Miranda > Tali > Grunt > Wilson > Jack > Kenson >> Morinth > Jacob >>> Liara
ME3
Garrus > Kaidan > Tali > James > Anderson > Ashley > Javik > EDI > Nyreen >> Wrex > Aria >>> Liara
Overall:
Mordin > Garrus > Kaidan > Miranda(ME3 massive bump) > Tali > Legion > Zaeed > Samara > James > Anderson > Thane > Kasumi > Ashley > EDI > Grunt > Javik > Wilson > Jack > Kenson > Nyreen > Aria >> Wrex >>> Liara
I like interesting, intriguing characters who undergo appreciable character development. This weights it a bit in favor of the older games, though (Javik's fun, but only in one game). Failing that, I like mystery and hidden thoughts about characters, like Wilson who was offed way too early. I don't like Mary Sues or character shilling, and that's what bumps the last three down to nothing.

Odd that you like Miranda more post-ME3. One of the largest complaints about her from Miranda fans was her 'flanderization' of character in ME3, to where she isn't portrayed to really be doing anything more than getting upset about Oriana.
Granted, she's also the only squadmate/person in the galaxy who you doesn't need you to fix her problems in ME3, and she clearly is being the hero of another story, doing her own thing, but even then, a lot of that action is focused around Oriana, leaving many of the more ambitious and altruistic motivations behind her actions left unsaid. I don't think the change was necessarily bad, but it was portrayed rather poorly.

It could be because I wasn't a huge fan of Miranda in ME2, I didn't hate her, but she annoyed me. The fact that she didn't drop everything and demand Shepard fix her problems is a big part of it, and she helps the Alliance afterwards. She is just one commando, one commando with no resources. Not a whole lot she could do.

ME1: Tali>Garrus>Wrex> the ones I don't use unless I don't have two of the former yet
ME2: Legion=Tali>Garrus=Grunt>Miranda=Kasumi>Zaeed>everyone else that I don't use>>>>>>>>>Jacob
ME3: Are there other squadmates besides Tali, Garrus and Javik? I wouldn't know.
Wrex also gets an honorary mention in ME3 even though he only shows up for 1 mission in the DLC it is his best appearance yet.
