I notice that this is always from the perspective of the PC falling for two people and getting them both.

Clearly, they need to bring back Isabela and Zevran in cameo for the sole purpose of a one-time 3some fling for your Inquisitor. We've had it in Origins and DA2-- don't break the tradition now!

That might make me a bona fide Cullenite. -shudder-
Although I recall Gaider's post on the matter and it seemed like the most likely option would be to have two LIs who can only be romanced together, although he seemed to come at it from a perspective of them already being in a relationship and then adding the PC, whereas I would prefer a story of multiple people falling in love, where even during the initial flirtation it's clear it's a multidirectional thing.

Yeah, if BW could make it happen without screwing it up, I'd love an option for poly romances. I feel like Garrus/FemShep/Tali could have worked, and Zevran/Warden/Hardened!Leliana in DAO and Fenris/Isabela/Hawke in DA2.
BUT, I don't want it to be creepy and all about the male PC getting the two hot chicks and making it all about "hot" girl-on-girl. I want straight up, respectful poly relationships for male and female PCs.

Just really hard to write multidirectional. Do you do it like Avelines quest for donnic except you are in a relationship with Aveline, and when Donnic shows up you proposition him? Seems really difficult. I like the idea of getting into an already loving relationship, of course I say this and I am not poly, but it seems a lot more respectful that way

Maybe not that, but more like...Isabela's playful flirting with everyone, and you and another person flirt back and also with each other, and things get intense enough to be super awkward until one of decides to sit the other two down and lay it all out on the table. Whereas with coming into a previously established relationship, it would be very easy to accidentally make the player feel like a third wheel.

Leave Harem Age: Inquisition to deviantART.
No! That is the way I want to play DAI and thus Biower must comply.
OR ELSE I WON'T BUY THE GAME!

Quite a few BioWare games have 'love triangle' designs, where it reaches a point that your flirting with multiple partners requires a "which one of us do you choose?" confrontation scene. Instead of choosing, perhaps everyone can have an adult conversation about how they are interested in each other and want to be a threesome/moresome, and it be mutual in all directions.
Though I would like to even see one companion flirting and progressing along in a romantic direction with another companion, and then having them proposition you to be their third. "We really like you, Protagonist, and we've really given this a lot of thought -- we'd really like to date you."

Yes, romancing an established couple would probably be the easiest way to implement it. Maybe if you flirted with each of them and didn't have a LI they would approach you with the possibility? That's unlikely to be in DAI, though, at least from what we've seen so far. I don't think any of the companions are married to each other, and the same goes for the advisors.

Yeah, it's unfortunately pr much confirmed not happening this game. But we gotta start early with these requests! Plant the seeds in their MINDS before they start writing for the next one!

If they did, I think it'd be best if they made it one male, one female and you.
Could be interesting, and have mentioned that I'd like to see it before. Not sure it'll happen though.
EDIT: Engineers Daniels and Donnely were a great oppotunity for that kind of romance arc. You've already got the tension between the two of them, so the courting could double as getting them to open up to one another about there feels while having them both fall for Shepard. Alas, it never happaned.

If the Warden turns up as more than a desicated corpes, you could alway work something with him/her and Leliana if they're together.

Yeah, esp for the first time having one dude and one lady is best, elsewise you either make them gay and have to put in a second gay poly romance for gender balance, or you get triangles that come off waaay too fetishy since the romance is always going to seem a little bit more about the player character and if the player character is the odd gender out one it can be seen as 'person and their two lays', not 'three people in love'.
I think that's the most convoluted sentence I've ever written, but i can't figure out another phrasing and it IS understandable if you tilt your head and squint.

Shameful secret: This was my primary reason for choosing a male character for a single one of my several play-throughs of that game.Jade Empire allowed a polygamous relationship for male characters with two women being able to share him.

Honestly, polyamory could be the answer to many love triangles. I never like how it is done, in games it seems slightly fetishistic and normally only happens near the end of the game right before the love scene, hardly ever to be mentioned again. If they could do it while treating it like a real relationship, yes do it! If not, I sincerely hope it never comes up.
I second that. If it's not just a sexual encounter like the "adventure" with Isabela in Origins, a polyamory relationship should take time to build up and should be treated like a real relationship. However, I think that there is always the danger that it appears "fetishistic".
Yeah, if BW could make it happen without screwing it up, I'd love an option for poly romances. I feel like Garrus/FemShep/Tali could have worked, and Zevran/Warden/Hardened!Leliana in DAO and Fenris/Isabela/Hawke in DA2.

Exactly.
I have never met anyone in real life who was in a polyamory relationship, but I saw a documentary once about that topic. Many of the interviewed people said that it took a lot of work to have a functioning relationship. As much as they wanted to live polyamory, jealousy was always getting in the way. Thinking about how to portray a relationship like that in a game, the jealousy part needs to be addressed, too. I know, characters in BioWare games already tend to get jealous, but this is on a different level because someone in a polyamory relationship will be constantly exposed to this. So, next to the fact that you really have to avoid coming across as fetishistic, there is also the problem of avoiding a soapy storyline. I am not saying a polyamory relationship can't be done, but I think it brings a lot of problems with it.

I wouldn't mind the idea of polyamorous relationships in future installments. Many companions really seemed open to that possibility (hardened Leliana, Isabela, Zevran) if it were implemented in the game.
I think it would really have to fit the characters though. It wouldn't be 'any LI gets into a threesome/polyamorous relationship with any other LI', it would probably be relegated to a specific set of LIs that are written to be open to that type of relationship.
I venture to agree that the best way to approach that is to have a 'companion couple' who are already in an established relationship or written to where they are in the process of forming one, even if they are flirting and having romantic dialogue with your PC as well. It would either get to the point where you have to tell the PC of interest to choose you or the other companion OR bring up the option for a polyamorous relationship. This of course, depends on your relationship with one or both of these companions.
Could be something quite interesting to explore actually.

if they dont do the polygamous relationship, i would still be up for them continuing the tradition of the quickie threesome/foursome that they did in origins and da 2

I managed to have my character in the Neverwinter Nights expansions end up in a relationship with both the Sleeping Man and Valen Shadowbreath because the game is bugged. My PC was already in a relationship with Valen when the Knower of Names declared her the true love of the Sleeping Man, and there was no way I was going to break things off with him because some dude said she was meant to be in love with someone else. It turns out that if you never break up with Valen over this, you just get both epilogues!
I'd be happy to see intentional poly relationships in games, but I can see that they'd be a lot more complex to write and implement.
