I'd go Knight Enchanter if i get some cool armor. The description only points out magical shields (sustains, I assume) and weapons. Not wearing armor.

Otherwise, I'm a bit torn on mage robes so far. I'm not a big fan of looking like Vivienne. One fashionista mage is enough.

Necromancer. I hope rift mage is being able to draw powers from the fade, how powers in the fade differ from the real world I don't know but it could be interesting. If so I would try that.

Anything new. It was battlemage in awakenings, force mage in DA2 and it will be rift mage in DAI

Knight Enchanter looks like the new Arcane Warrior ( I guess they had to change the name since AWs are supposed to be rare as sh*t )

If I can resist the overwhelming urge to play a dwarf, then knight enchanter certainly looks appealing, but as some have said already I'd have to see what the other specs offer too.

Knight Enchanter for my canon/main 'good/neutral' mage playthrough

Necromancer for my 'evil' mage run.

Don't know much about the Rift Mage, but it sounds like something I'd try out down the line after playthroughs with the other two specializations and classes

You can only do that if you wear the fabulous coat and hat.

dunno yet. do we have any info about other specs?

i want to kill pixelated people in most violent ways possible: mind controlling enemies to fight each other, melting faces, boiling blood, peeling skin, exploding skulls, the usual fun-stuff, and i want my toon doing all these things, not some crappy skeletal minions.

Once we get some more entails on the specializations, I think I can make a clearer choice.

As for now, I can say if the necromancer speciality enhances any entropy powers, I'd be more inclined to it. I get the feeling raising dead and ripping souls out foes for healing/enhancements is part of the power set.

I'd like to know what a rift mage is. Is it like a spirit healer, where the mage can call upon spirits within the fade for more power/buffs/enhancements?

Knight enchanter does sound like fun. If I can get some "swording" on, and spell casting, I don't mind.
