Depends on certain mechanics.

DA:O encouraged sticking to certain members based on your how you play

DA2 encouraged switching out regulary.

I don't know what'll work best for Inquisition.

 

But if i had to choose:

Cass, Viv and Sera. Because my Male Inquisitor is apparently a lech.

Dorian, Cassandra and varric.  That its, my inquisitor wont be coming, her horns will be too freakishly large to fit through doorways.

I don't know what I'll be using in DA:I but in general I like to alternate to see whats best for the end. I also like seeing the different reactions from different party members while adventuring. So I'll probably alternate throughout the game, then when I want to finish it quick I'll stick to a certain team.

Either Sera or Varric as my rogue

And Iron Bull as my warrior.

It's so hard to decide without getting to know them better. So many to choose from for various reasons. I have this habit of keeping Varric around, but I guess I should avoid that because he was Hawke's buddy rather than Inq's. I'm probably going to make Sera a dual-wield, but she's definitely going to be around a lot, as is Cass.

I'm screwed. I always played archery rogue, and I'm gonna romance Sera and I also must have Cole... Why do I always love rogues?!

Usually I play a rogue, then have a Warrior and two mages but... I don't know anymore. My love for Cole and Sera might change my canon OC I always play. So uhh basically... I don't know. Maybe Sera/Cole/Cass/Mage Inquisitor ?

My Elven Mage Inquisitor - The Magic.
Dorian - The Support (We also have his mustache as emotional support).
Iron Bull - The Tank.
Sera or Varric - The Rogue.

I really enjoy having a party diverse in terms of races, so having a character of each one would be appealing. Torn between Sera and Varric, though at least they have the same general battle style, so it won't be difficult to switch between them.

I have a crush on Cassandra in DA2, so I want to bring her everywhere.

At the moment, I'm strongly leaning towards the Girl Power playthrough:

 

Female Qunari Warrior - Tank. If I can do a 2H tank, I will.

Cassandra - Melee DPS

Vivienne - Healing and debuffing

Sera - Ranged support and control

 

I'm also going to have to go at least once for full Mage Supremacy:

Female Elf Mage - Debuff and Control

With Blackwall dropping in and out, since he seems like he'll be the best tanky NPC. This playthrough would probably be incredibly pro-mage and pro-Dalish, and anyone who objected would get their asses dropkicked out of the party, so it might not stay full magic forever.

Right now it looks like it'll be Blackwall, Sera and Vivienne, with my Inquisitor as a tank. I might switch Vivienne with Dorian though, depending on how their personalities mesh with my Inquisitor. Most likely I'll play it as I did ME3 and DA2, and switch characters frequently with a core group I tend to fall back on for the big quests.

Right now, I like the idea of Dorian, Iron Bull, and Vivienne with my inquisitor.

Vivienne (mage - healing, buffs, magic dps)

 

It could change once we get to know more about some other companions, but I'm fairly sure Cassandra will never leave my side, especially if she is a romance option for my male Inquisitor.

Now that we have more information, I'm leaning toward Iron Bull, Varric and Vivienne. Although I don't feel like I know enough about Solas and Dorian yet to run them out of contention.

 

I'm hoping Iron Bull & Varric turn out to be more like Alistair & Morrigan or Aveline & Isabela than Fenris & Anders, though. If they genuinely hate each other in an non-entertaining way, I'll probably separate them.

I think my elfquisi will have Dorian, Sera and IB with her quite a lot, but I'm liking Blackwall too, and Cass, and Solas, and oh Maker how could I forget about Varric!? And Cole and Viv!? Gah, so I guess I'll be swapping pretty regularly...

This is sort of tough for me, I foresee a lot of switching people in and out in my future (which is normal for me on a first run through, really), but if I absolutely must pick:

Far too early to say. It'll be too early to say until I'm about half-way through my first play-through.
