Not really... My brothers mature enough to know that swearing is bad, and those blotchy red things that appear after he kills someone arent real... Dw, hes not going to slice someone with a giant sword anytime soon or go dragon hunting, besides, that sort of thing is for my parents to decide, and they dont mind.

IMO, letting children play games like GTA when theyre younger makes them understand right and wrong more, I did and I know it better than most people.

Like the French, its quite normal to allow younger people like 12 upwards to drink a glass of wine at a table, but these children dont grow up to become binge drinkers. If anything they understand it more so.

yeah your right about the parents thing. guess it just seemed weird to me since i didn't play dark games like DAO when i was 12. not that they were around then or anything ^_^ would have thought a kid that age would be more into things like pokemon though...

Naah... hes a very mature gamer... Hes a Halo, ME, DA, HL, Oblivion and Fallout type of gamer. Strange though, I dunno if your from America or somewhere, but Pokemon is classed as childish for anyone above the age of 8 really... I mean hes in his second year of secondary school, I suppose liking Pokemon wouldnt make him too populour.

Is it that obvious? But yeah, around the age of 10-13 little boys around here start liking Yugi-oh, Bakugan, Pokemon, etc.

When I was about 11-12, I sat at one computer in the house and played Diablo with the other computer in the next room, usually occupied by my dad or one of my brothers. Or I just played alone. Dad thought it was great to have such a kick-ass daughter :D

I would too... I hope that when I'm older and have kids my daughter will play Halo 5 with me...

I dunno if America gets this show but over here wi have this show called Skins, its about a bunch of teenagers in Britain being all "rebelious" and whatnot... That has influenced teenagers more than a game could of... Most people ages 12 - 16 watch thsi show, think they're so "cool" and aspire to be like them... Thinking that is how some people live... if you actually live like that then you ned help.

it's probably similar to MTV's Jack ass w/ Johnny Knoxville....they do really stupid things like driving motorcycles into lakes and stuff.

yeah except my parents are old. i mean my dad just turn 80 in 2009. they are still really cool but video games aren't exactly their generation.

I'm 21, I've been playing video games since I was 6 on the super Nintendo mostly Mario, Donkey Kong, and Disney based games. At 11 I got more into the world of gaming because of Poke'mon >and to this day Pokemon is still addicting<. But even though I love video games, I still prefer to draw, write and read and take photography outside....but when I find great games >like Dragon Age< its hard to put the controller down.

Aaaa, we have a reader, write, drawer and photographer. I'd imagine your not easy to please with games then? They'd have to have good story, good views/ landscapes with an artistic look? I mean everyone does, but you seem like the creative type to really enjoy them? I too draw and have 'dabbled' in Photography. Drawing a life model soon :D.

Good luck with the model I hope you have fun :)

I think I do more photography then regular drawing now, its always fun capturing life now I want to post the pictures of my little brother cross-dressing.

Yes I can be rather picky when it comes to games I have to say as much as I love great graphics I love good stories, I even play my GBA games for great story lines and RPG fun. I'm not a fan of manly man rip apart everything games >like God of War I think I killed Kratos a few times on purpose....< I have to say in all the games I play I always love fantasy setting worlds and sci-fi. Also I enjoy games with female leads as well :kissing: , no surprise there I guess. I have also played both Guild Wars and FF11 online, sorry never played world of warcraft seemed to weird for me.

Indeed, I'm deffinitly a man, but I don't enjoy te macho games either, even Crysis was too macho for me. I've actually only just realised it but it's true, macho games do tend to be a little bit cruddy. GoW being an exception, thats so macho you have to laugh at it anyway. ME you can be female, Fallout you can be female and Halo you have a female parrot equivilent, Fable 2 you can be a girl, 4 of my favourite games.

I also never played WoW, I do not want to become like that. Guild Wars I did for a while, and never tried FF11, theyre better off as normal ol' JRPGS.

I'm not the only one! Except I was about 5 when I played Diablo, and I don't have any brothers. I played Duke Nukem even earlier...I'd say about 3-4. I'd sit on my dads lap and hit the CTRL key to fire while he used the joystick. Good times...

And, I'm 18 <3

I am a JRPG lover I have to confess, its like a guilty pleasure almost like fighting games.
I confess when GoW's Crato's appeared on the psp version of Soul Calibur I made a cute like girl character with a giant war axe to kick his butt and it was fun >:D

But also with games I always like to find something that both me and my little brother can play. Like we both play Zelda, Kingdom Hearts, Tekken, Devil May Cry  together and he's has been watching me play Dragon Age and is slightly curious to play it >I know he is going to be either a mage or a Dalish elf if he plays.<

26.

It's interesting because when I was 12 and my parents told me that when I was all grown up, with a wife, kids, etc. I would lose all interest in video games and embrace the finer things in life.

Well guess what? I'm single, childless, and playing video games in my one bed room apartment is still my greatest passion ever.

So my parents can take those "finer things" in life and go shove em!

I just turned 22. I started playing the duck hunt and mario on the nes when i was real young then moved to snes playing games like super mario, donkey kong, and star fox. From there it was the sega genesis I was addicted to sonic and some baseball game lol. I never got into the sega saturn, my next big console was the n64 "get n or get out". I played goldeneye/perfect dark almost everyday. I also got my first real rpg start with Zelda occorina of time. I also bought a playstation 1 which introduced me to Final Fantasy, metal gear solid and Resident Evil.

Then came the ps2. I liked games like Madden NFL, but Metal Gear solid and GTA were just so addictive. It wasnt until I got an xbox that I played the original Kotor. From there I moved to Kotor 2 and Jade Empire. When I could finally afford a better pc, one capable of playing high end games, I went back and played Nwn 2. I also got into the Warcraft series around this time, but it didnt really keep my attention for that long.

Obvlivion was released as well as Fallout 3 and I started getting in to WoW which brought me back to my Warcraft days. I had an xbox 360, but honestly I find gaming on the pc much better so I sold it. Id say im a pc gamer at heart now, even though I came up on consoles. With that said I like all kind of games. I play WoW and anything Bioware puts out aswell as GTA and COD. I love the Madden series but they stopped making it for the pc. I havent been able to play it in a long time.

EDIT to include other games I used to love: Starfox 64, the entire resident evil series, the entire metal gear solid series, pokemon on gameboy lol (loved this game when I was like 13), of course mass effect which i first played on my old 360 ...hmm idk what else. I played so many good games while growing up its hard to list them all.

17, going on 18 (April 15...heh, the only person who celebrates tax day!)

Eh, the first M game I played was Metal Gear Solid at my friends. That's a great game, right there.
