I've been playing games since I was 5. My dad bought me a used Atari 2600 and yeah - it's been downhill since then lol

Thats cool. My Dad is 67 and he loves playing games.
It must be so cool to be a gamer when you're retired!
You are right, I play now (I'm retired after over 40 years in computer business) more than ever. Only problem is to find out good games, I like to play mostly TBS and secondary RPG games, but...

My very first game was Super Mario Bros on the SNES, when i was 4. My dad was a greedy dick then and would always get irritated when i wanted to play it
Played my first Bioware game (which was KOTOR) when i was 13 and then I started playing all the others (NWN, Baldur's Gate, etc.).
My first 'violent' game was GTA3 which i played when I was 10. My parents were skeptical then (and who could blame em?) but after we 'talked' about the various social issues the game contains, and showing them I understood that shooting people in real life = stupid I was allowed to play it.
And the rest is history
Note to Jack Thompson: I've never killed a hooker. You are a douche.

I turned out alright. The hookers in my basement aren't too many, I think far below Jack Thompson's statistic.

26.
It's interesting because when I was 12 and my parents told me that when I was all grown up, with a wife, kids, etc. I would lose all interest in video games and embrace the finer things in life.
Well guess what? I'm single, childless, and playing video games in my one bed room apartment is still my greatest passion ever.
So my parents can take those "finer things" in life and go shove em!
37 here, and as much as I like gaming and it's my primary hobby, my wife and family will always come first, turn of the games once in a while theres a big world out there sounds like your missing the epic adventure call life!
