Do you gain anything by going pure bard or pure cleric? Or pure any caster? I'm cleric20/NWNN1, so maybe I missed something... I'm going to continue with this build, but I would like to hear more about epic pure casters.

You still get x/level benefits for certain spells. Durations continue to increase. The most important thing is caster level continues to go up which applies against spell resistance. Epic level creatures have epic levels of SR and if you don't keep up your spells start bouncing.

What metatheurgist said, though that also applies to prestige classes that advance spellcasting (i.e. a cleric 30 isn't a better caster than a cleric 20/stormlord 10). Your spell DC also increases for every 3 caster levels above 20, and base classes also gain bonus feats at certain levels, normally at 23, 26 and 29.

A bit of multiclassing generally makes for a stronger character, at least in epic, but it's not always a necessity.

You can multiclass in any class that doesn't advance divine casting for up to 4 levels with Practiced Spellcaster. So you can be a Cleric 26/Figher 4 and still have the same caster level and DCs as a pure Clerics.

So you can be a Cleric 26/Neverwinter Nine 4 with Practiced Spellcaster and do just as good. But your Turn Undead might suffer a bit.

The Doomguide is very good and fits very well with the story of MotB. Since you must follow Kelemvor.
It fully advances Cleric casting, Turn Undead and gives you many undead-killing abilities and ability to use Bastard Swords.

If you're interested in it, you can use a console command to relevel your character and change her alignment for example to qualify for it and get the feats.
