I just recently did a playthrough by picking Morinth and letting Samara die. Since Samara was a squadmate up to that point, would Morinth be counted as a squadmate as well. Meaning, if you recruit all 12 and have Samara die and Morinth takes her place would that mean I had 13 squadmates?

I also had Morinth die on the suicide mission and when I looked on the memorial wall, when playing ME3, it only had Samara's name on the wall. If Morinth is dead would she be counted even though her name is not on the wall?

No, Morinth replaces Samara as the 12th squadmate. Also note that to the rest of the crew, they believe that Morinth is Samara (although Kasumi wonders about her personality shift).

Well, she was trying to live incognito as Samara, posing as her mother as if she was still alive.

Only her and Shepard were aware of this fact. Joker teases about the possibility of Shep siding with Morinth over Samara. Kelly and Kasumi notice some discrepancies on Samara´s behavior, and you can comment on this replying to Kelly.

Yes, if you did recruit Morinth, you could say you recruited up to 13 squad-mates, aside from the temporary ones in missions outside of the normandy (Amanda and Wilson).

You may notice as well that Shepard adresses her as Samara if she dies being taken away during the SM. Even her voice actress is still the same as Samara´s, aside from the talks you can have with her in private.

By the way, having one play of the game with Morinth is the only way to obtain her bonus power.

Word of advice: Do not have intimate contact with her.

I did notice that. I thought it was cool that she is able to look and sound exactly like Samara

I wasn't too impress with her bonus power.

Yes I did avoid any contact with her. She also mentions a few times how she like to spend more time with Shepard.

I just wanted to be sure. Thanks for the reply.

You actually don't have to play out the game with her to get the bonus power. If you save right before talking to her in her apartment and then side with her over Samara that will unlock the bonus power. You can reload at that point and the bonus power will still be unlocked. This is how I got Dominate even though I have never really had Morinth as part of the squad.

I am curious about Joker's dialogue. If you side with Samara, then Joker says he was worried you might side with some soul sucking psychotic (or something to that effect). Does he say the same thing if you side with Morinth?

I think he says the same thing, oblivious to the fact that you just did exactly what he feared.

A similar situation can happen in me3 if you let the gf remain sabotaged, while having talks with Javik and Garrus.

Not really. Javik "senses deception" and approves. He thinks it shows your total commitment to defeating the Reapers. As for Garrus, he gives you this long, suspicious look if you sabotage the cure. I am pretty sure he doesn't give that same look if you cure it.

No, but in this situation, if you did not cure, you can decide if you tell him the truth or not. And even if yoy did not sabotage it, you can still confess to him that the idea crossed your mind.

Too late, she is dead.
