If it's making money for them, I guess...

Could probably make more by being more aggressive in banning him. Blocked again? Buy another copy!

It would seem he did it once with the "David 7204" profile. Auld Wulf didn't even bother changing his handle when he turned up a second time; they permabanned him in less than an hour.

You should pitch that idea to EA.

Nah. I get the impression I'll be the one who gets spiked by the mods if I keep talking about it.

Wait, so they're protecting the guy who was supposed to have been permabanned?

They're treating the switch to the new forums as a second chance which I don't necessarily have a problem with if lapses back into their old ways were promptly dealt with.

However posters like our friend here and a certain poster in the Dragon Age forum have certainly abused that and gone back to doing exactly what got them banned in the first place. Tolerating that, let alone protecting it, well...there's not much I can do about it anyways...

Someone has to be melodramatic, or else I'd have to just post Aquaman gifs and make silly off-hand comments everywhere.

I wouldn't say it's a second chance, per se. Banned accounts from the old BSN are still locked, and they've even added the crap where you can literally access nothing if you're banned, no matter how long. It used to be where you couldn't access things like groups, forums, and a few other social things, but you could still get messages and comment on people's profiles. Now, you can't do a thing. You get banned, and you're locked out of everything. You can't even log out of your account. The only thing you can do is get on a different browser and look up stuff, and access a second account if you have one.

Plus, some posters that have been kicked are kept out. When Auld Wulf came back, he was gone in less than an hour. The mods don't forget everyone.

That's how IPB works in general. If you wanna view the forum from the same usual place, you have to nuke your cookies for the site to forcibly log yourself out since IPB prevents you from doing anything at all once a suspension/ban goes into effect.

On that note, I think we've strayed off topic.

*beat*

Unless we want to go back to more QvG headbutting...

It has magic rocks that can turn invisible at will! We should all be afraid!

TBH, I really like the scenery on Rannoch. The geology actually looks fairly realistic.

...Except for aforementioned invisible rocks.

Looks really rocky. Like the Grand Canyon and American West.

Of course, if you're a flat young earth creationist, all those rocks are invisible.

Oh how I've missed shodiswe's incoherent headcanon, it's been far too long! Anyway in regards to the OP; pretty much agree on everything stated. My major issue with the Rannoch arc is the "one sided" stuff. It's insulting when anything is reduced to something so black and white.

So anything complex and not clear is automatically bad? That's a completely naive perspective. Black and white is childish and uninteresting. There's no complexity or conflict in the story worth a damn. On one side you have purely pure do-gooders that are mighty and heroic and absolutely right. On the other side you have mustache twirling evil-doers that are always up to no good. It's the sort of stuff even a 9 year old would find boring and lame.
