DA:O had a minimum level of grappling that DA2 didn't have, which was good. In fact, grappling is what makes being outnumbered in melee combat so dangerous. The best unintentional illustration of this was the deathblow animation, which opened the character up to damage without being able to defend or react because of the follow-through.

I hated the deathblow animation for that.

I would appreciate this, but I think it could be useful to have a 'recommended' option also, particularly for first-time play where you might not have much of a basis to make a good comparison of your options.

I think they should routinely allow you to retrain 1 talent every level up.  Maybe more at higher levels.

The stun skills were useless, though (if we're looking at a mage or rogue) and the warrior stun only had value for a limited number of playstyles.

Maybe you're right, after all. Although I do like that tree for Rogue companions (for Fatiguing Fog.. and that stun is prerequisite).

I have mixed feelings about that rogue three, because I really like Spirit Mage builds in DA:O now so disorient becomes key. The DPS on the spirit bold is really good because of its low cooldown and most enemies are weak to spirit (except for some demons and mages).
