Yes, the Venatori are tevinters.
No, we don't know their plans but, again Tevinter, it probably has something to do with blood magic

Looking at the Tevinter headquarters below from the "Discover the Dragon Age" trailer, I can't help but wonder if the Venatori might be using red lyrium just as the red templars are? And if the "extremist" factions among both mages and templars might potentially be morally equal in that respect (just as the moderates among both factions might, potentially, have more in common than they realize)?

Venatori is a Latin term meaning "Hunters"

Tevinters using blood magic? *Gasp*. Maker forbid! I imagine they are cultists along the same breed as Aurelian Titus' group. (In the comics)
They might even BE Aurelian Titus' group, albeit with a new master. That cult was pretty large, and I doubt they just gave up on the whole "take over the world" thing because Titus was killed.

Unlikely, the venatori are more likely to represent a house or sect maybe even a cult from tevinter, but tevinter is far to devided to have some big Faction as a proxy.
If the Archon had such a faction at his disposal he would wield it against the other houses to suppress them, rather then send them to another country.
May guess, the venatori are a smaller then people think their job will be to recover the same artefacts that the inquisition is searching for. And we will be enemies simply because we are both competing for the same resource.
But I doubt the venatori will be for "tevinter" so much as Faction of tevinter.

It makes me sad that we will have to fight a Tevinter faction, fingers crossed that we can have them as allies but chances are zer0.

Venatori just seems barbaric. More problematic than Antivan Crows.

IIRC the Venatori do have some battle shouts regarding dragons and their return. Take from that what you will.

Nah, they just shout "He will reign!", at least during the Pax Prime Demo.

Meh, close enough
Rack 'em up as another "Bad Guy faction", which people will ceaselessly ****** about not being able to support, even though we got ZERO knowledge of their MO.

Reminds me of David Gaider pointing out that he literally partly based the Sith Code from KoTOR on Mein Kampf and people STILL talked about how awesome it sounded.

Venatori to DAI is what Cerberus to ME3 is. We must fight some humans in the game apart from the demons, dragons, beasts etc...In ME2 those were Blue Suns, Eclipse and Blood Pack. Every BW game has some rogue organisation of human enemies.
