In ME1 the most annoying thing for me was the fact that the "Default" Male Shepard was not one of the selectable customization people that you could edit but the Female one was. I had hoped that ME2 would have both of them because I love the way the default one looks but sometimes I want a scar down the eye or different eye colour etc. I've seen in one of the videos of people who had the game pre-release and they went through all the presets and they looked pretty similair to the last ones. Please, please make a patch were this becomes available and I would be soo happy and I'm sure other people would as well. I don't think it would be that hard and it gives us a chance to customize our shepard but still keep it looking slightly like the one from the trailers.

I hope for this too. Would make creating better looking characters easier. Also I hope for some better looking presets aswell.

default shepard uses face scan data. as such, it wasnt made using the character creator, so you cant use it to edit it. an unfortunate drawback of the technology, but nothing can be done about it.

Its pretty difficult due to the fact that default Shepard is not a face made in the creator but preprogramed in. Its basically a face scan of some actor or model.
Your best bet is to just fool around till you get close in the character creator.

Also, I think Vanderloo's face and likeness were actually licensed (as in, Bioware paid him) to be used as the default Shepard. So that might factor into this as well.

She isn't, as such. In ME1 (at least), if you select FemShep and then Edit, her face does change a little.

Yes but only a slight bit unlike the male shepard whos face just goes bam and changes completely.

I don't consider there to be two default Shepards, one male and one female.
I consider male Sheploo to be the default character.
And default femShep a sort of afterthought, tossed in like, "oh yeah if you're too lazy to make a femShep you can go with this thing we nuked in the microwave" kind of thing...

Sheploo, from everything that's been implied/forced down our throats, is the "real" Shep which I think is a poor decision by BioWare. At least with Dragon Age "The Warden" was used for one trailer for DLC, and I don't think that version's been seen elsewhere.
Ah well, what's done is done, aye?
