I unlocked this last night and went a round w/ it on Cerb/White/Gold using the Valkyrie and have to say I was really surprised @ the damage. Once an Atlas was down to armor, w/ a Warp I could basically 1 clip him, yet I never hear anything about this gun (other than it took Evil a long time to get one ;) ). I'm assuming that's b/c the lolHurricane and CSMG are preferred, b/c why pierce every *8th round when you can on every round?

 

Thought I'd ask for your thoughts on the gun and if there's a "standard" class it goes good on. The gun gets kind of jumpy on the AP round so I was thinking next time out maybe I'd TSol, or try the recoil dampener. I went w/ AP ammo originally, didn't know if Warp/Inc would also be good choices, or even Phasic/Disruptor since it has innate piercing, kind of.

 

Also, do any of you numbers guys know the damage of the AP round that shoots every *8th round? Kalence doesn't account for this.

The AP round has a 5X base damage multiplier, with an additional 2.5X against armour.

 

It's less effective than the hurricane, but it has style.

 

I only use it on RoF kits though, it feels slightly sluggish otherwise.

I hate the feel of the gun, the recoil is worse than Hurrdur's and damage is not so great.
But since I got it very early, I used it on the Fury instead of Hurricane and for that purpose the gun performs good but I don't think that's a good benchmark. (Fury needs just something that shoots in between power spam, really even shuriken goes)

I must say I never tried it on a HM kit or Turians...

It's a cool gun.. but I only like it on accuracy/ROF kits. The spread can be helped with hard cover.. but I still want a better ROF. It's ashame the Hurricane makes it obsolete..

i like to use it on my Vorcha characters, just because it feels better to use a blood pack weapon on a blood pack character.

 

Like Evil Mastered mentioned before, the AP shot does 5x damage against everything and an additional 2.5x damage against armor.

I agree a RoF/accuracy buff would be nice, which is why I was thinking TSol next go-round. I play a lot of CQC kits anyway, so shouldn't be a problem. Also, it seems like it's going to be vital for the AP round to hit b/c otherwise it's pretty much a Shuriken. 

 

Still, I liked it; it's more stylish than the Hurricane @ least, (edit: as Evil stated).

It "becomes" a very good assault rifle (especially against armor) on TSol.

It's a solid gun, which can be very effective on kits with an accuracy bonus like the TSol. However, as you said, it's outclassed by the Huriccane and the CSMG.

 

I tend to use it on the vorcha soldier and the vorcha sentinel, for RPG reasons. I tried it recently on the human sentinel with warp ammo (for a gold match against the Reapers) and found the dps of the BPP quite impressive against armor.

I'm pretty sure the AP round is fired every 8th round, not 3rd. As for the BPP, like many here said, use it on weapons kits and preferably ones that have RoF and/or accuracy boosts. You can also overstack it with stability bonuses, slap it on the Tsol and it'll be very accurate even for long range (as long as you can compensate for vertical recoil.)

 

Overall, I like the design of the gun and I like the sound of it but I don't like it's performance. Maybe once I get it to rank X (it's at IV now) it'll be better but at the moment BPP does everything worse than the Hurricane.

It becomes awesome in the hands of the TSol, although probably slightly behind the hurricane even if requires a bit more skill to get the most out of it. On basically any other character it's just outclassed by the hurricane. It has style tho.

It's actually really quite good, but three main problems... it's frustrating, its mechanics lend more towards weapons users when it's a freaking smg :/ and niche overlap, doesn't really do its niche well enough.

Someone else will probably get a mechanics post in before i can get a computer.

It's only every 8 rounds if you right trigger hold. If you're not sustaining fire, i.e. you're casting powers, burst firing, etc, it's every 3rd.

 

Edit: My mistake, it's every 8 rounds.

This is a good choice, since the VSent is pretty much the only Vorcha I have that I enjoy playing w/ @ all.

Use it on Tsol with ext. mag, heat sink and ap ammo, wrecks (almost) everything, .

But the d*mn annoying firing sound...need to turn down in-game volume for me tho.

Put it on the ROF/Accuracy Destroyer with a 2 shot Executioner sidearm and paint the walls red with the blood of all enemies.. then smear the gore with your hand so it says, "Bloodpack."

This is a good choice, since the VSent is pretty much the only Vorcha I have that I enjoy playing w/ @ all. 

He's a beast, and the weapon suits him. Throw on Disruptor Ammo, (I use Power Mod and HVB), now you have a great anti-shield weapon without having to crutch it with the Acolyte, like every other Flamer kit on the planet. Also, TB's AND FE's= muy bien.

Seems like it would work; first time I used it was on the Valkyrie, AA isn't so different  ^_^

 

Besides, the closer you are to your enemy, the less accuracy matters  :D

You have to have armor piercing or weakening if you want all the standard shots to do more than 5 damage to armor.

 

Accuracy is pretty bad for how low the damage is on the standard shots.  Obviously on Accuracy +/- Stability boosting classes it will work a lot better, but that is true of nearly every automatic gun.

 

If you try it on a standard class against Collectors, and then get bee'd, the shots will basically come out of the gun backwards.
