I'm torn. I know that the singleplayer is going to be the same old series of jarringly linear levels, scripted events, and QTEs, but I'm tempted to get it for the multiplayer because frickin lasers.

Yes!!! I'd love some UT. I really enjoyed UT3. I think a game like UT 04' in unreal engine 4 would be amazing.
I'm gettin sick of the low skill high derp casual "modern" shooters like Call of Derpy, and BattleFlop 4.
Online FPS need a highly competitive, highly skilled, twitch based shooter like UT to save it.

Another game that's exactly like the others, but that the idiotic gaming media will give 9/10 or 10/10.
SP: On rails shooter, that kills you if you leave the map "Warning you're leaving the mission zone" kiling any advanced thinking or tactics you can come up with. Forcing you to watch scripted events and listen to those super expensive serious sounding voice actors. Only able to carry two weapons at most, that does the same damage and are almost identical, other than their scopes. Regenerate health and bloody screen.
MP: Fast paced, almost arcade combat, though still no rocket jumps and with 12 year olds calling you a ******.
Sooner or later (hopefully much much sooner) people will get sick of paying absurd amount of money for this crap, where the game is essentially the same bloody thing over and over again.
If you actually want to play a good FPS, buy Shadow Warrior folks.

I'll definitely watch the playthrough, I might rent it, but the last time I bought a Call of Duty game was the original. I like the futuristic version of modern civilization and all the stuff we'd seen before, but the gameplay itself has grown stagnant for me. And yes, dat spacey boosts my interest.
