So many different things. An ugly ass giant spider, a pride demon or a darkspawn ogre... something huge with a lot of abilities. A hurlock if they have them in the game would be cool too.

You know what would be cool? A spell where you could shapeshift into the last creature you killed and then consumed through a unique spell, if it was equal or lower level than you. Oh the possibilities and variety.

Ser Pounce-a-Lot.. err I mean.. wyverns sounds nice.
I was thinking more of a wyvern mounts as well. Not sure if anyone mentioned about that yet though.
Asking for dragons feels a wee bit unrealisic to the story.
The shape-shifting tree in DA felt like it relates to tree loving nature. I don't see dragons as part of the "nature".
In my opinion, they're more related to magic and they are their own race.

Wolf or Dog. Summon a Wolf sometimes and see how quickly it takes down foes.

How I would have Shapeshifting (+Summoning):
- Have a Summoning Spell that works in conjunction with Shapeshifting. If you can Summon it, you can turn into it, but Summoning should be an activated time duration, and Shapeshifting as Sustained until you disable. My reason for temporary summons is that if you can have it at all times, then you may as well just have another party member slot.
- Once you have the spell, you have a few default basic creatures to Summon/transform into.
- By discovering more creatures, you are able to summon/turn into said creatures. All discovered creatures (except for super powerful beings such as giant dragons) will be in a library of creatures to choose from. Click the spell from your radial menu(or hot-bar), and BAM; your choices.
- I feel there should also be a master level upgrade that allows you to turn into other people. Turn into a party member at camp and talk to another companion; trickery and deception at its finest. Since the game has those Spy Keep Upgrades, maybe you can gather recon on bandit camps, and just transform into the leader, sneak in, and attack from the inside. Possibly use Willpower to attribute to whether or not you can pull it of successfully.
- Another upgrade that allows you to change allies or enemies (Turn an enemy into a weak dog or something OR an ally into a bird so they can escape from danger, but you can only have one transformation at one time because it's a powerful spell and requires a lot of mental focus on the part of the mage)
- Another upgrade that allows non-shapeshifted spells to be used while in a shapeshifted form.

Or anything that flies, basically. I'd love to see the gorgeous landscapes from the air. If I could turn into a flying creature outside of combat and just cruise around, I'd do that for hours.
Something cool, though. I don't want to be a beetle or something.
My thoughts exactly. Flying would be super cool. A falcon or buzzard would be nice.

I was thinking a falcon, a raven, an eagle or a hawk for a flying option would be cool. ![]()
And while I like the ideas of a wolf, mabari or bear form obviously I need a tiger form to prowl through the jungles and forests in. ![]()

Mabari, because no-one's going to be suspicious of a stray dog wandering around or probably want to harm it, especially not in Ferelden where that'd be practically unthinkable. In that regard, it'd be an excellent choice for stealth.

I would like to be a cute little house cat. So the Templar would pick me up, take me into the building where my phylacter is to give me a bowl of milk. Then, when he is not looking, I sneak to the phylactory chamber, stomp on my phylactory like a bug, and get out of there. LOL ![]()

The only way I would use it is if you could do it outside combat like for stealth or fitting into tight spaces, but that would totally trump the other classes so they wouldn't do it.
