I mean you would think seeing meredith become some rock corpse thing would make them stay away from it. But I guess someone was like "Sure why not, lets use the red lyrium anyway and go nuts, kill all mages, and some several hundred Innocent people give or take! that sounds like a great plan"........ <_<

Sure, they saw Meredith turn into a statue. But before that, they also saw her wield near-godlike power.

Remember that Red Lyrium has powers that makes people obsessed with it. Not every Red Templar may be a volunteer, but were indoctrinated.

I'm guessing a lot of them also did not have any idea what happened to Meredith. They didn't see it, for sure. Only a small handful of people saw it. It's mostly all rumor passed through multiple hands, and who are you most likely to believe? Probably your superior, who is telling you that the red stuff is just as good at curing your withdrawals and even more powerful for fueling your abilities. Those rumors about Meredith are just lies created by the mages to discredit the work of a great woman, after all, right?

It is in the Highlands of the Dales. It is where you will encounter Red Templars.

Welp this is gonna suck.

Also add the fuel from what happen in Dragon age:Asunder.   They feel  centuries of  a system which they follow, to them it was being  throw down the drain by Divine Justina. Because she wish to  change things with the circles and started to create some of the many conflicts to come. Remember It's  written from the beginning of the chantry ,where it is told they have  divine right to rule the  mages and so on.. that alone.will get the traditions strict following Templar crazy up set

I mean i got the vibe.. beside with that problem of Order feeling Tradition and divine rights were being throw out the window. The whole set up  with the Templar order before they become the order.Which was a group had there own full power and were not rule by chantry. it's mix of a lot... So yep its gonna suck.

You have to deal with good numbers of Templars of who want to have their power back as it was many times ago.. and the whole divine right to rule magic..to be follow again.. ( well also... the red stuff makes them go crazy too haha)

someone said they better not be like the ME  group.. will those are totally different set ups..come on the group was the big pro human group..with totally different ideologically .   The Red Temp..I dont see them kidnapping people and doing what Cerb did..one because cerb had futuristic technology to make the people into force indoctrinate agents.. The reason red temp will be everywhere because they have a big numbers   of people part of he order before they left the chantry. The one thing how they will be the same as cerb. because they have major source of incoming resources to spend and many followers already in them.

but that will be it.  Red temp are more of a restoring traditions and retaining the power they once had. they wont be forcing indoctrination to  anyone..  because they already have millions of numbers  in their ranks. Other People who felt magic should be control would rely to there cause too.  so they dont need to force indoctrinate. It's for the maker.just like the crusades ..fight for your god ^^

that would explain how they got the red lyrium without going into the deep roads!

on a side note..

Addicts doing stupid things to get a fix is fairly expected

Picture 1: Roman army tents and what looks like it's based on a 1933-45 era German eagle emblem on the wall.

Picture 3 & 4: Random Tower syndrome?

Picture 5: Gothic cathedral ruin

Picture 6: Gothic church tower + red lyrium crystals everywhere

The cathedral ruin in picture #5 looks very nice.

according to speculation its in the highlands of the dales, which would make it south frostbacks...  we know the tevinter were warring with those barbarians in the wilds, it would only make sense to build a few fortresses surrounding that area... so yeah it would look like ostagar but its just similar in  design cause it was probably built at the same time ostagar was

I was hoping for the sort pitty route. The devine had used her influence to cut off rogue templars trading with dwarfs, in an effort to stop the war. Meanwhile mages were engaging in hit and run attacks stealing or destroying lyrium stockpiles.

Lyrium stockpiles depleting, In desperation they sent out scouting parties one of which found the highlands and reported enough lyrium deposits to supply the army as well as a defensible fort.

And so a the main body of the rogue templars set out to relocate to the base in the highlands. By the time they arrived they were so exhausted and racked with lyrium withdrawals (having used up the last of their supplies on the journey) that they did not care it was red lyrium that they had discovered.
I imagine one or two of the less lyrium addled yelling at them to stop, wait it's red lyrium and being completely ignored as the troops ran past them.

that makes sense, but we have never seen red lyrium outside the primeveal thaig before... it would seem to me that someone introduced it to them

We really need to know more about red lyrium, I can't help but think it's somehow something very nasty involving tevinter experiments with blood magic trying to make more "potent" lyrium.

i can see that... after all, the monster in golems of amgarrak was a collaboration between tevinter mages and the dwarves....  it was my theory that the primeveal thaig and red lyrium was a collaboration between the dwarves and mages as well

Why prequel? It just takes place on a planet in the MEuniverse. They have a krogan head trophy in MotA and an Ogre statue in ME2 Stolen Memories.
