How do you get Liara to comment on Jack's real name? I have taken nearly every combination of squad mates on that mission and still haven't heard that line in my own game. It seems as if it is always preempted by the other squadmate's dialogue.

I got it when I took Liara with me on that misson. Otherwise no idea.

 

Did you take Garrus? I know I did. Might come from someone that was in ME2?

Its possible that you picked the other squadmate first when selecting them for the mission. Try picking her first next time. If that doesn't work, than I have no idea.

picking the relevant squaddie first doesn't work. I tried the same thing to make Jack & Javik interact, but she always speaks to the other one. pisses me off.

 

for god's sake I even took EDI with me which I never do, hoping Jack would have nothing to say to her and pick Javik instead.

No joy. I tried it with Liara first, Garrus second. I tried it Garrus first and Liara second. I tried it with EDI first and Liara second. I tried both the paragon and renegade responses. Liara simply would not respond.

 

BTW, Jack smacking a non-romanced Shepard makes no sense whatsoever. Jack was on that bloody mission with Shepard. She could have jumped ship at any time. And yet she's pissed at Shepard for working for Cerberus? I guess a lack of self-awareness goes with the territory when you're a psychotic. (More likely the writers wrote that scene for a romanced Shepard first and then retrofitted it onto a non-romanced Shepard, even though it doesn't make any sense.)

Well, judging by this, I'd recommend that both you and cap and gown try Javik and Liara. One of you should come away happy! (It's not like Jack won't talk to either of them if they're BOTH there...)

I checked the wiki but it doesn't say anything other than LotSB being a requirement.

You can't be sure. Maybe the game is rigged to frustrate us! I'll get the Javik dialogue (which I have gotten before), and BRS will get the Liara dialogue.

In that case, I think we're down to either gibbed (such that Liara is the only squadmate) or squadmate approval scores...

 

Play a game where you obsessively talk to Liara and ignore James, then bring James along maybe?

 

Otherwise, have you tried it with both Ashley and Kaidan? (I'm assuming from what you've said that you've tried everyone else.)

...I know your LI "takes the initiative" in certain scenes of Leviathan, but that'd be pretty cool.

I don't know, I'm guessing. But since they implemented a squadmate approval measurement system, I'd expect some parts of the game to actually use it. Besides, you know, DLC and the very final scene of vanilla ME3.

Did you not only complete LotSB but also look at Jack's file on one of those terminals in Liara's room? Cuz that's all I've got.

'Jacqueline Naught' is a pseudonym Jack uses for her poetry - 'Jacqueline' is the long version of 'Jack' and 'Naught' is a synonym of 'Zero,' incorporating both the name she's been given/chosen and 'Subject Zero,' her identity at Pragia. Since they don't have anything official for her name beyond that, the memorial wall uses that if she dies.

Don't take squadmates who Jack knows, like EDI and Garrus, they will get priority in that situation. Take someone like James or Javik if you want to hear the Jennifer thing, because there seems to be a hierarchy in who speaks in that situation.

It worked with Garrus? It never works with Garrus for me, if I take him or EDI they always speak instead of Liara.

I got all the dialogue from each squadmate and don't recall who I had with Liara when she said it.

I have no idea how I got it. I take Garrus everywhere because he is my LI.
Or I could be delusional.
