I asked this question over a year ago, and I think I'll ask it again.

The Leviathan DLC was okay. The story and buildup was great, but the constant returning to that one room in the Citadel, as well as how little an impact it has on the rest of the game/ending was disappointing/annoying.

The Citadel DLC was great, but then I realized that it was great because it was deliberate fanservice to try and cool down everyone's heads after the ending, retroactively giving the ending some people wanted, but putting it before the actual end. The story was nice, too, with the clone story being some silly fun. But I bought it long after it came out, and I forget why I did so.

Anyways, I'm just wondering how the Omega DLC holds up, as it's the only one I don't own. When I asked before, I received some lukewarm responses.

I don't have the spare money to get it now, but I just returned to the forums and saw discussion about it, and it made me think.

Story-wise, Omega DLC has no impact on the rest of the game. No one on the Normandy accompanies you on the mission, and none of the crew acknowledges you even left. If you like Aria's character then go for it. You also get to meet a pretty cool (imho) female turian. You earn a couple new biotic bonus talents -- Flare and Lash --  that are really nice, and some weapon mods, stuff like that. When it comes right down to it, It's all about fighting Cerberus all the time, and there's alot of xp to be had, so if you want to gain a few levels before tackling the rest of the game, then it's a good dlc to have. Speaking for myself, I like it.

What's your platform? On PS3, Omega was or is free due to a possible bug in the servers....

Back to OP, what Omega DLC offers:

Powers:

  • FLARE
  • LASH

Weapons:

  • Chakram Launcher(If you haven't unlocked it through the Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning Demo)
  • N7 Valkyrie(If you don't have the pre-order DLC)

Weapon Mods:

  • Shotgun High Velocity Barrel
  • Shotgun Omni-Blade
  • Assault Rifle High-Velocity Barrel
  • Assault Rifle Thermal Scope
  • Pistol Heavy Barrel
  • Sniper Rifle High Velocity Barrel
  • Sniper Rifle Thermal Scope

The Omega DLC is an action packed story DLC that goes into the war between Aria T'Loak and Cerberus. Stand and help the vengeful and restless Aria take back Omega and free its people from Cerberus control as you break away from the Normandy and its crew. The Omega DLC provides you with weapon mods that will tear your enemies apart along the way while giving you two new weapons to add to your arsenal if you do not have them already. The length of the Omega DLC is decently long and would satisfy your lust for more action and gunplay as your actions will have severe consequences on Aria T'Loak and Omega.

The my only real disappointments with Omega are that it can't become a hub once the mission is over, and that the only acknowledgement of what you did once you're on the Normandy comprise of messages from Aria and Bray, and a memento that ends up in your cabin. Otherwise, I think it's a really good DLC. I didn't care for it at first, but it's grown on me. I found it's pretty fun to either go pure paragon against Aria, or side with her ruthless shenanigans every step of the way.

I thought it was a waste of $15 dollars at first and I still think it's only worth $10 dollars, but yeah, it does grow on you once you start playing it over and over. Mass Effect 3 survives on its DLCs. I have played Vanilla Mass Effect 3 when I deleted all of my DLCs off the PS3, because I wanted to see how things were. Oh my gosh, it was boring as hell! Omega really adds variety even if none of the DLCs really impact the main storyline besides From Ashes & Leviathan.

If you don't have a PS3, then I guess I'd say "it depends on how much you like Aria and Omega".

Do all you also have that animation bug with Aria's speech scene??

Because that pretty much has me telling other more casual Mass Effect fans to stay the hell away. That kind of thing deserves a patching - not a lazy ignoring by Bioware. I rarely call companies lazy but:

There's just no way around it.

BESIDES that, Omega DLC is.. okay. It offers almost nothing that you'd be missing, which can be a good or bad thing depending on what you think DLC should be.

-It is the most combat focused (followed by Citadel and its CAT6/Arena), so if you like to fight, Omega offers a few more hours of it

-It is a significant character boost (levels, credits, items)

-Like Aria? Here you go. Personally though, I found she was... muted compared to ME2. I have my ideas why, but still, I don't like it.

-It can be an impressive experience at times. I don't consider it worth the $15 for everyone though. I really think it should have been priced at $10, and that Bioware really had to stretch out its 'value' to make it fit its pricetag.

Overall, Omega isn't a dis-likable DLC. People may have their individual grievances, but the DLC itself is pretty fun and pads out your playthrough. However, it is certainly *not* an example of Bioware's heights of quality. We heard that it was more Bioware Montreal working on this one. Okay. Does this mean that Omega was just practice and that they'll improve for ME4? Or does this mean that this level of quality for Omega is what we're going to continue to get? We'll have to wait and see.

1. Citadel (imo crucial, but only because I have certain views about it)

2. Leviathan (might as well if you have the money)

3. From Ashes (honestly can barely picture a playthrough without it)

4. Omega (only DLC I consider completely optional)

The Shield Boost power deserves a patching, the absurd Loading scenes between Multiplayer games deserves a patching...so many things deserves a patching... :P

Anyway, I think the Omega DLC is totally worth it. And I couldn't live without Flare :)

I believe they forgot to perform Camera cuts which is why Aria's being dragged all over the place.

This was the scene advertized as a big part of the DLC from the trailer.

It's pretty much...unacceptable.

It pretty much was but they edited the crappy parts off. LOL! I wonder who finalized the DLC as a perfectly finished DLC?

It's my fault. I phoned the QC guy in charge of cutscenes at the precise moment he was watching that scene and asked for a release date update... yeah, I didn't do that at all. They all have caller ID. ahem. Nothing to see here.

I had fun with it and have no regrets buying it. Also enjoyed making an impact on Aria's character and by extension the future of Omega.

But it is buggy and that video bug isn't even the worst. There is a particular area (no idea if this got patched) where Charge will glitch and kill you.

I say get it and complete the package. I had to buy all the DLC because I don't like story being withheld from me. I like it more than the Leviathan DLC because you meet a female Turian for the first time and you fight with Aria. Remember setting foot in the Afterlife and hearing that music? Yea, Cerberus has taken that away from you. They're trying to take all those good memories away from you. What ya gonna do?

I think it's worth it. But I really like Aria. And Nyreen (the female turian). I thought the combat was a lot of fun.

Both the renegade and paragon paths are worth a playthrough. I know a lot of people prefer ren (it fits really well with Aria), but personally I like par better. Shep is like a disease xD

+ if you are an engineer, you can do an awesome paragon interrupt!

Aaaand flare/lash = awesome.

No, Omega is guttertrash, save your money and buy something else later. Steam summersales should come soon IIRC.

If you have to asks twice just get it. In my opinion I regret paying for any of the mass effect 3 DLC. By the time the real fun starts the omega dlc will be over and you'll be begging for more action.

If I was to of paid $1.99 instead of $14.99 when it first came out I might've actually liked it. Its a dlc that adds a whole bunch of nothing. Look at the above gif. The quality you get is not worth the price for the dlc.

I adore Omega. The RP element is strong by ME3 standards, Petrovsky is a good villain, and the level design is gorgeous. It's a standalone adventure that actually fits the tone of the game.

One word. Yes. It's one of the fun parts of ME3. If you like Aria, it's a definite buy. It allows you to get your renegade on and have fun doing it.

Omega was a nice little side job for ME3.  A distraction from the rest of teh game (which is a good thing, imo)

Only problem is it doesn't feel $15 nice.  Kinda overpriced for what you get, leaves me to suspect it was marked up to help pay for Leviathan.

But if you can get it on sale, I'd say go for it

I would say it was marked up to cover the costs for making the extended cut. But thats just my observation.

I enjoyed the Omega DLC. The mission is fun, there's a decent amount of content here, and I've always been a fan of Aria- getting to largely duo the Omega base with her (with Nyreen making the occasional trio) is alot of fun.

For its price, its hardly a must-own; but if you're as big a fan of the series as many of us are, you're greedy for as much ME content as you can get, and in that respect, Omega doesn't disappoint. Bottom line- if you're a hardcore ME fan then you should get it, if you're not then you can easily do without.
