Did I miss something?
It's believed that the game will begin with a peace conference when the Fade explosion referenced in the trailer will kill everyone there minus the Inquisitor. The Divine is believed to be attending said conference.
Where did this come from? Did they give a hint that Celene is somehow going to be romanceable?
Or is this one of those "_____ as a possible LI or Companion or ____"
That's a bit weird because as the Inquisitor, you shouldn't side with anyone and instead just focus on closing the tears. Marriage or even just an affair with a political figure is not being neutral, not unless your Inquisitor is unrealistically altruistic about things that he/she is willing to do the right thing 100% of the time, unbiased or unfluenced by earthly desires.

It's the latter.
I think...depending on what our interaction with Celene is, NPC's of both genders should be able to flirt with her. But then, I would say that about pretty much every NPC in the game. I would be disappointed if we could flirt with Celene, but not Gaspard, or vice versa.
After reading Masked Empire....should the situation be appropriate (ie, we speak to them more than once, there's a "break" from having to deal with wars and stuff, etc)...I see no reason to not be able able to sleep with either of them. But It wouldn't make sense for it to go any further than an affair.
From the book, it doesn't really confirm if Celene is a lesbian, or just bi. I think they could go either way in the game and get away with it.
She could certainly never be in a public romance with the Inquisitor. Most glaringly I think this is because no one but an Orlesian human male noble would be accepted by her public. Celene places political considerations above her own, and those closest to her, satisfaction.
Even if the male human Inquisitor's origin meets those conditions, there would seem to be an obvious conflict of interests. While your own personal Inquisitor may not care about such a detail, I believe Celene is far too politcally-minded not to.
All-in-all it seems extremely unlikely to me.
Celene already has a lover, Briala, her elf handmaiden
Why should that stop us?
I think she was confirmed a lesbian, wasn't she?
Why should that stop us?
MILF.
Proud 2 b BSNer.
She only has a fetish for female city elves with a sob story. Must be the maiden outfit.
I do not see much chance of the Inquisitor being romantically involved with Celene, more likely to become allies or rivals between her and the Inquisition.
While of course my primary objective would be getting Celene and Briala back together, I think the book makes it quite clear that she would be willing to marry anyone that could give her sufficient power, as that is ultimately her primary goal in life, power. The Inquisitor will be, one would assume, the single most powerful leader in the world, at least eventually. Being married to the Inquisitor would assure her hold on power, so she would do it if given the chance. Whether she could ever love anyone other than Briala, I rather doubt it, but she would at least be willing to sleep with a female Inquisitor, a male Inquisitor would be purely a political marriage. Since the only happy ending can be one that reunites Celene and Briala, I doubt marrying Celene will be an option, but it would be a fun alternative option (I'd also point out that marrying Briala, putting her on the throne and ruling with her would be an equally fun idea, certainly not as much fun as getting Celene and Briala back together but once you've done that enough times those other options would be fun to explore) .
