. I've tried the arc pistol but have a hard time making myself charge it some before shooting...it is powerful though.

Yeah, that's the downside of arc pistol. You have to practice charged shot and can't just spray it like hurricane.

Well, for weapons that are not UR, there aren't many good options that have a good balance between accuracy, dps and weight for power classes. So you have to bear with arc pistol for a while.

Or just use a weapon class (such as destroyer, GI etc) and equip it with piranha or at-12 and you will be fine.

IDK if someone already mentioned it, but you have to actually run towards Praetorians to get them to land on the ground. Sort of counter-intuitive since I expect most players natural reaction is to run the eff AWAY from those cheap bastards. Also, (and again forgive me if I'm repeating) soft cover doesn't stop their (butt) lazors- you have to actually be locked into hard cover.

Once you get used to them, Collectors are actually fairly easy.

Except on PS3, of course, where Collectors possess a unique weapon- the "brick-your-playstation" gun.

...easier way to get them to land is to do a buttload of damage <.<

Haha...yeah I figured out the laser cheapness through the walls. I don't have the destroyer sadly...been trying for ages to unlock him and it just doesn't happen.

My gamertag is Maverick2050, on xbox. The n7hq is cool...you can see just how broke a mutha I am! Go through ops packs like skittles, so it's an equipment pack per gold usually...lol

Or that. Ideally that.

Everything there is to say has been said already. I'll only add that you should check your flanks more frequently than when playing against other factions because abominations and space crabs are stealthy and you usually won't hear them coming until they're on top of you.

Oh, also corners. Too many times have I ran into a room I thought was "clear", just to get double stabbed by a Captain lurking in a corner, get a love tap from his CAR XXXVVII and get stomped before my body hit the ground.

Armour Piercing ammo is very good for dealing with Praetorians, OP, due to them suffering from a double hit bug and taking 2x damage headshots instead of the normal 1.4x boss headshot damage.

Seeing your kits + weapons I would use Tsol/TSent piranha/raider/claymore or TGI + harrier. TSol with drill rounds: marksman piranha/raider eats pretorians for breakfast. Tsent with incediary/warp rounds. TGI with AP rounds. Smartchoke + High Velocity barrel for shotguns, EB + EM for the harrier.

ps. your claymore and piranha is higher level than the raider so use them atm.

They have big heads. Both bawses have heads.
What else do you need? Bring the gun.

He has the GI.

GI is a glass cannon. New players are better off with something more tankier. Both Tsent and TGI are substantially tankier than GI, which helps a lot with carpet bombing and butt lasors. Ofc, it is his choice at the end.

Collectors = Area denial. You must move.. and shoot them in their big, fat heads.

Collector is my second favourite faction only to Geth, use a hard hitting gun(Saber, Valkyrie, etc) on their heads is fun.

Keep your distance from Abom, Swarm and Praetorians, you're good to go. BTW, the Scions' cannon shots are not hard to avoid, and they are rather easy to kill.

Edit: power kits indeed have a hard time against Collectors, better bring an Acolyte and a good light weight gun(CSMG, Hurricane, etc).

Hmm...yeah I guess I have a tendency to bunker down and get overrun quickly with collectors. Those seeker swarms make me crazy...I feel crippled when I can't reave that captain charging me.

Thanks for all the advice guys. I do love power kits, but I've become very fond of the salarian infiltrator with piranha, too. I kind of prefer him to the geth thanks to energy drain.

Keep an eye on seeker swarms at all times. You can trick them into blowing up on you if whatever you're playing has a dodge, by standing still close to it for a second or so then dodging backwards . Dont do this with seeker plagues though, their blast radius is too big; you're better off avoiding them entirely. Being powerless hurts.

In all honesty, I've only tried the claymoar on the krogan, seems so heavy for a castor, though.

If you like the SI then try the SI + claymore combo with incediary rounds (smartchoke + HV barell as before), piranha great too ofc.

You should really try the TSol + piranha + drill rounds combo though.

My opinion is same with RTK2Lional.

IMO, piranha is only for weapon classes that have accuracy bonus (GE included, GE is actually a weapon class character).

SI is better of with claymore in this case.

Being mobile is a start. Staying in an area for too long never ends well. A lot of players still haven't learnt this.

Agreed, the trick to Collectors is to never have the entire group together. If the entire group is together, this increases the chances for the collectors to take advantage of their strength, which is AoE attacks from Seeker plagues, Praetorians, Scions, Abominations.

It's only natural that if you don't have that state of mind vs Collectors, you will easily get overwhelmed.

Splitting the team up will always be the best option, simply because it cuts down on group downs, revive circles, and it will also effectively split up the Collectors as well, so 4 vs 8 become 2 vs 4 or 1 vs 1.

Also, if you're playing power classes, aim for the infantry. If you're a weapons class aim for the bosses.

Move fast or die... at least since it's Gold, there won't be any engineers trying to surprise you with turrets.  ;)

Glanced at your manifest.   Since you mentioned your human engineer -- w/o burning any spec cards, have you considered something like

http://kalence.drupa...!13N33343!.E8EG

?

You haven't used the Wraith, I see; it's lightweight, on the accurate side for a shotgun, and has respectable damage.

- Geth Scanner III for awareness (15m wallhax, if the wiki is still correct)

- Adrenaline III, because movement can save you... probably more than the 500 extra shields if you use one of your few Cyclonic IIIs

- Drill Rounds, partly for 2.5m wallhax and partly to conserve your AP ammo

At +143% power recharge, your incinerate or overload cooldown is 2.98s; that's only .31s slower than w/ a Hurricane I.  That's not likely to matter much at all.

If you expect to get up close and personal, the Piranha IX is almost as light as your Hurricane I and rather brutal.  But the Wraith will let you pop Collector Captain heads or Scion sacks from further away more easily.
