How much shots does it require to kill a brute? Pretty much shure one needs to revisit ammobox several times.

Not even once. I did a volus adept gold solo vs. rippas/condor and you can take down a brute in ~ 20-25 shots without biotic orb debuff. And scimitar has 30+ spare ammo anyway.

The uncommon weapons are not *all that* bad but they are outclassed badly by rares and URs. That's all.

Asari Justicar Adept / Drell Assassin Adept with:
-Reave evolved for multiplicative damage to Barriers and Armor
-Pull evolved for radius, lift damage, and duration & combo
-Power damage bonuses from passive skill, a power amplifier module, and a pistol/smg power magnifier
-Biotic Sphere evolved for radius, weakening and warp effect / Cluster Grenade evolved for damage, damage combo, and shrapnel
-Primary or secondary weapon capable of hitting multiple enemies at once (acolyte, venom, falcon, etc)
-Warp ammo for the Justicar / Incendiary ammo for the Drell

Praetorians and Scions are trivialized by Reave stacking, lateral movement, hard cover, and the occasional biotic explosion.
Captains, Troopers, and Abominations are trivialized by Pull, requiring minimal weapons fire to deplete barriers in the case of Captains or possessed versions.
Biotic explosions at chokepoints, groups of more than three, or when Pulled enemies are within four meters of armored targets

Anyone who plays a caster class and gets weapons kills/medals should be thrown out the airlock.  Especially for the Fury.  They should assign negative scores for every weapons kill.  Zero gun kills, folks.

If one does not have the skill to play the Fury without treating her like a Demolisher, then you're not a good Fury player.

LOL.

As on the caster/weapon debate:

1. Every power character needs a solid weapon to back his/her powers even though you plan on doing majority of the killing with powers.

2. And turning every character into a heavy weapon platform with powers for 'support' ruins the uniqueness of a kit for me.

As much as I love venom, I'd never put it on a marksman kit because it kills the character for me. At the same time, I'd never use something like claymore/PPR/typhoon on justicar or coldept. Just my playstyle.

Eh, that was a reference to the old old thread, where the scimitar was tested.

You are a masochist indeed.

I like to roll on gold and plat with common/uncommon weapons time to time. Some combos are quite powerfull (tempest tsol or mantis HI for example). But scimitar is not somewhere near even an "ok" level.

Hehe, I did it for one of Prestacious' challenges.

I never had high expectations for that gun since it's an uncommon (obv. I don't expect it to have the stopping power of a claymore, wraith or raider.) For an uncommon, I'd say it's okay.

Re castor/weapon
Only those "casters" that can conclude 1 CD (naders and AF) or 1,5 CD (singularity, bubble) combos deserve to wield claymoar in my eyes, for others I prefer to use either wraith or pirranha/AT-12 (depends on range).
Paradoxically enough, claymoar is quite heavy for Krodept, while skinny fury can wield it and continue AoE demolishion.

Believe it or not, I still want to play kit, I just like to think wether I should or shouldn't "cast". I like to hear claymoar caboom or AT-12 roar accompanying biotic splosions. Reload-hiding is a second reason.

As for "light caster guns". I prefer to use them on weapon specialists, cuz some of them (hurrdurr, talon, wraith) become a roflstomp op machines, while others (pally, eagle) become great as they deserve.

It's all a matter of play style for sure and everyone can play any class and use any gun they wish.  Whatever works for you and is fun.

Apart from the 1-2 times a match where I get "bee'd" in a bad situation, I don't find the Collectors too difficult. They have big, squishy heads .. the only real threat is playing them on PS3 .. where you are forced to missile in certain waves.

They can be intimidating when you start playing against them, but once you learn their attack patterns and tendencies, they can be nullified quite easily .. a lot of quality head-knowledge has already been shared in this thread, so I won't bother repeating.

However, the more I play this game, the more I find Cerberus to potentially be the toughest faction on Gold. Everything is fine .. until it's not. You can be severely punished for the smallest mistakes against them.

In Platinum, IMO the Geth are the toughest faction (wave 2 ..) .. if you play them on Condor or London, GL - Stunderdome

Hmm...yeah I guess I have a tendency to bunker down and get overrun quickly with collectors. Those seeker swarms make me crazy...I feel crippled when I can't reave that captain charging me.

Thanks for all the advice guys. I do love power kits, but I've become very fond of the salarian infiltrator with piranha, too. I kind of prefer him to the geth thanks to energy drain.

Salarian Infiltrator with Claymore is something you MUST try.

Scimitar is awesome, just not in terms of damage. Use it as an ammo application weapon with disruptor and a spammable power like concussive shot, throw, etc and it's pretty decent even viable on Platinum without too much headache. You can chain tech bursts back to back to back very quickly.

The BSN orthodoxy patrol is offering a bounty on your head as I type this. I heard a million credits and they'll fix the Retaliation bug if someone hands you in.

I didn't think it was that bad, my plat solo for the scimitar was about 35 minutes

Oh and this thread is full of so much crap, with small sprinkles of good advice.

Re Casters w/ Guns

It is because this is Mass Effect and not Heroes of Narnia Spellcraft.  The "casters" have always had weapon damage, and all of them had the top tier weapon skill in ME1 (Marksman).

QFMFT

Universal solution to everything...

To the Fury in particular, tho ;)

A LOT of great knowledge in this thread...thanks guys!

As some have said I think it's the pacing...the collectors flanking and immediately moving to stomp when someone goes down...it turns into a clusterf*k quick. The geth stun lock does suck...I guess I'm just used to them.

I'll definitely give the claymore a spin, and tried the wraith on the justicar last night. I like it, just have to get used to it. I also unlocked the destroyer and trooper last night, been waiting on those. Have to figure out a good build based on what I have, though, haha.

Also...I see everyone recommending the heavy barrel attachments...does the weight increase not kill the power classes?

3. Plagues on the other hand, are near impossible to dodge consistently unless you are a jet pack turian or collector or character with teleport dodge. Just shoot them or use power combos on them. They are the only annoying thing, albeit minor abt collectors for me.

Drell can dodge them too. They just need to start running as soon as they're close enough XD

It's just an adjustment. They have ridiculous burst damage that they can unleash and some units "cheat" through soft cover. You can deal with a budget by mostly taking out Abombs, three abombs account for more of a budget number than one Praetorian and you can kill abominations quickly and easily. Take a good look at their animations, etc and they become manageable.

I'd probably agree with this- Cerberus wave 10 can be an absolute nightmare. Seriously, eff those effing turrets. I hate them almost as much as I hate Primes (and that's saying something).

Cerberus to me is easy until they are not easy. There budgets are easy enough to deplete quickly and Atlases are a joke unless you're just stupid and get in the open with them. If you get downed though especially on a Phantom or Dragoon wave it can be a PITA to get back in the game. Also turrets.
