Fireball is such an awesome skill. Quick cast time, knocks enemies down, iterrupts enemy castings and archer's scattershot, and has a short cool down. You can have fireball as early as Ostagar. Inferno does alot more damage than blizzard or the electricity one. The only thing you miss out on is cone of cold's crowd control ability, but fireball's knockdown makes up for it.

The lightning spells should be better than they are because they drain stamina/mana, unfortunately enemies seem to have much more stamina and mana than PCs. Still it can be handy against ogres and some of the stamina based PC race elites since it can accelerate the rate at which they deplete their stamina pool (particularly if paired with the solider's bane poisons to prevent stamina regen). It's not that great against casters since it's completely outclassed by Mana Clash.

I actually found the Shock spell in the lightning chain to be useful. Early in the game it's weak but once you get your magic up and get the Storm Talons, which increases electricity damage by 20%, it becomes a good spell to use. And it only has a 10 second cooldown. It's not going to blow you away with its damage but it's great to use while something else is on cooldown and you can use it often, too. Definitely best used against Darkspawn mostly.

I think the fire spells are useful, however, the lack of a single target spell seems kind of lame imo. I mean, we have Winter's Grasp, Lightning, and Rockfist from the other lines, so where's the spell where I can immolate/incenerate one single enemy? I kind of get the whole idea that "fire is supposed to be uncontrollable," but wouldn't it be possible to make a spell where the enemy takes moderate fire damage and small amounts of fire damage over time?

Also, shouldn't it be possible to cast Fireball near a high terrain area IE: A wall? I mean, the explosion could still occur, but I found that I can't cast fireball all because a wall is in the way of the explosive radius. Wouldn't it make sense that a fireball (which explodes on impact) be capable of being cast where the vertical terrain is being blocked? I mean, at least the explosion would still affect the unblocked area, right?

Just so you all know, I do find the fire line useful, just not as much compared to the spells of the other lines. At least with spells such as tempest, blizzard, cone of cold, and rockfist, the caster can combo spells that are far more useful than grease fire. Fire is a good line, but I think the damage should be given a slight buff since the ability to combo spells leaves the fire line a lot to be desired. *Puts on flame retardent suit*

Fire lacks a DD single target spell... as Raycer X above me said. Anyways the toolset is there and there are plenty of tutorials on about changing spell behaviour ;p
