It's not really a speculation on what could plausibly happen, though I guess few things could make less sense than zombieShep so there you go.
Well, if that was the final choice of ME3, would you? If, at the cost of surrendering the current civilisation to the Reapers, your Shep could become one him/herself, would you make this choice? I realise the Reaper existence isn't currently the most attractive one since all our exposure to their mentality was the standard baddie talk on Virmire, but there are still two games to go. Maybe lying dormant is not everything they do. You would become immortal. You could go anywhere in the galaxy, maybe in the universe. You could see anything you wanted to. You would see civilisations rise and fall, you would make them or break them as you saw fit.
So if there was a way to transfer your Shep's mind into a Reaper ship, would you make that choice?
Would you become a Reaper?

Hmm... Well if I could control a Reaper ship with Shepard's mind through a link of sorts which can be disconnected, then sure.
If he turns into a space ship... well... Doesn't seem very practical. So no.
If Shepard gets infected by a Reaper's mind, then I'd like to pass on that too.

You are a reaper in ME2. What do you think they implanted him with?

Sure, then I'd use my vastly superior technology to create various "avatars" to experience the universe. One of those avatars would be a cyborg clone of my old body, improved of course.

Ehh, I don't know about that whole "civilizations rise and fall" thing. I got tired of Sims after a few months.
So, no?

Nah. We get the third novel for that.

Immortality is overrated. I'd rather die an exciting death than be bored out of my hard drive for eternity...

I think I'll wait and see. For The Good "Reapers" to come in and see. I feel that if the Reapers are the biggest Evil there has to be something that is the Biggest Good like them.

Mmmm... nah.
Sleeping in space and then BAJKSKFNLKASFKLKILLKILLKILL sounds rather dull, even for my renegade.

If it meant I could have various avatars to live through, like someone said earlier, then yes.
Otherwise no. Eventually you would start thinking like a computer, even if it is your mind, I guess.

As long as I got to be a humanoid reaper construct and then recruit all the geth and immediately take over the galaxy. I don't want to wait in darkspace for a couple of eons.
