Don't forget Shep had a boob job too. Got to spend those 6 months doing something.
Should I feel guilty for liking the female outfits

Maybe Miranda thought Shep needed to get a larger cup size to fit all the cybernetic implants.

Indeed.
And in addition, that "uniform" doesn't even look like a uniform. Not an Alliance one, anyway. Nobody else wears it, male or female. Not even Kaidan, which is essentially her counterpart. It was sexying (it's a word!) her up for no other reason than sexiness. Her personality and background didnt' factor into it.
I tend to agree her background didn't fit with the change she went through. In fact most tomboys don't dress that way. We're fine in just a t shirt and pants so we can play football with our cousins. So for us to use sex appeal is just not going to happen heck getting dressed for my prom my sister had to help put makeup on me. It's very unlikely for woman like Ash and me to use sex appeal unlike say someone like Miranda.

Is there an issue with Ashley being a tomboy who does wear makeup?

No, I just didn't see any on her in ME1. So why change her design all of sudden?

I'm just being purposefully difficult. It was explicitly for sex appeal.

Honestly, I didn't even see the ****** on any of my play-throughs until someone mentioned it. My gaze doesn't typically go south of the border, especially on a robot(that's just creepy). Than again, it may exemplify my powers of observation,...or lack thereof.
I didn't see it either until a favourite artist of mine who loved drawing EDI mentioned it. It's not like I want to stare at Mirandas ass or Samaras boobs but when they literally zoom into it during their conversations, I don't really have a choice.

No, there's no reason to feel guilty for liking the way the characters look. They're put there for us to enjoy and whether you do or not is a matter of personal preference but its not something to feel guilty over either way.
I love Miranda's outfit. It fits someone who could and would use sex as a weapon.
I love the way Ash looks in ME1. I love the way she looks in ME3 even more. She's still Ash to me (although it's sad that they thought they had to "give" her sex appeal in 3 when she had loads of it in 1 anyway).
I enjoy looking at Samara, even though her outfit is gratuitous and doesn't at all fit the kind of character she's supposed to be.
Jack's outfit in ME2 is patently ridiculous but I can see somebody like her wearing it. But the new outfit in ME3 is horrible, especially since she's a teacher in a respected school and the game actually goes so far as to mention the professionalism of Grissom's teachers. ![]()

I hated that during the conversions they zoom into their boobs or ass. When it's done purely as fan service that's, when it's degrading to us women.

I wonder if they'll do a talk at some point about how video games need to do more to combat such obectifying stereotypes? ![]()

I agree it's just objectifying woman to point of being overtly ridiculous is, what I've got a problem with.

Personally I found the design and outfit of Miranda ridiculously over the top and not remotely sexy. I facepalmed when I first saw Miranda. I'm all for some good looking characters and a bit of sex appeal but when the designers seem excessive and obsessed it doesn't work for me. Jack in ME2 does work because her body isn't so ludicrously designed and the outfit fits the character. Not that I'm particularly keen on Jack either, but that's beside the point.

I'm woman and I have noticed that female characters in ME and DA series wear quite revealing clothes. But I think there are other games which female characters use more revealing clothes than ME and DA. I have always thought that those characters are made for male audience and I don't see anything bad about it. ME is for adult audience so why not. Of course I sometimes wish that I could put more clothes on the female characters because I feel that they don't wear enough clothes.
I don't think you can compare Thane's clothes to Jack's clothes for example. Even if Thane did't have a shirt then it wouldn't be the same case as Jack and her "shirt". I also haven't seen an occurence when the camera in cutscenes would zoom in to male butt for example. So would it be disturbing to men to see that kind of zooming ? Or that you could see Vega training without a shirt covered in sweat? I also think that in order to get equal content for female audiences as well then there should be something like you could see a glimpse of naked male butt because I don't see that seeing a man without a shirt is the same thing that clothes that Jack wears for example.

As I said earlier, here's hoping the next Mass Effect game(s) feature similar designs.
I've thought about this long and hard and have come to the conclusion that I just don't give two shits about realism.
I play video games to escape reality, and I like for video game characters to appear larger than life, not just "normal" and "mudane". BTW, the realism argument loses weight in a universe with billion year old robotic squids destroying civilizations, and aliens having special powers.
Miranda, Jack, Samara, Ash, and even Isabela are all strong and beautiful female characters in their own ways. Hopefully Bioware continue to keep doing what it's doing.

The issue isn't whether you should feel guilty.
The issue is whether sexualization should come at the expense of things that are arguably more important, and some of the ideas that are behind the answer "yes."
Some of those ideas are undoubtedly not very good ones, but it doesn't mean you share them or are guilty. The majority of people the media industry markets sex to don't have Misogynists of the World, Unite! flyers in their nightstands. And we all, to some extent, objectify.
It's all about taking things too far.

It's not about the issue of realism, it's the issue of double standards. Yes, they are all incredible characters but them being half naked doesn't add to their character.
It IS normal and mundane to have half naked women but completely armored men for no real reason. In every form of media and marketing that is the case.

Thanes chest isn't sexualised like boobs. I don't get my screen zoomed in on his chest 80% of the conversation. I didn't even notice his chest was out the first time I played the game. Even then they had to scramble up to find a reason, oh he has a medical condition, duh. Samaras boobs are out because?
and wow, Fenris' arms sure do look sexualised. Kind of like Isabelas countless crotch and ass shots.
At least he even wears actual armour, not like Morrigans stringy bra.

Irrelevant. Both still aint fully armored, and Fenris most definitely doesnt wear armor at all. Its the DA equivalent of a catsuit. The only armor he has on afaik is gauntlets and boots. Thane doesnt wear armor either. He's pretty much always in casual dress.

Is it wrong that I would pay to see Garrus lounging around the Normandy in his underwear?
If it means I get to mock him mercilessly for it, then somebody do this!

I have a feeling there are many people that wonder if Garrus prefers boxers, briefs, or commando and would probably pay for something to let them find out.

Just because they aren't fully armoured in areas that aren't even sexualised on a male body, I don't care. I should have probably worded it better, because as far as I know we don't see any guys happy trail yet we get all the boobs in our faces. I def should have said female characters are more sexualised so pardon me for my poor wording.
Because as far as I know, dudes can go out shirtless but women can't, because boobs are so sexualised. That is the main problem between Thane and Samaras armour.
