Most of this stuff doesn't seem very fitting from a role-playing perspective...

In what way? Is having dragon themed weapons really so unfitting for a Dragon Age game? You don't have to pre-order them anyway or only use the stuff you do like.

Perhaps there will be different thrones to unlock or even craft. Seeing as their seems to be some customisation when it comes to the kind of throne you want and your stronghold as a whole.

You may get different dragon thrones depending on dragons you've slain. Or at least their skulls on the walls of your throne room as trophies, like in Awakening.

With plenty of articles mentioning customization of the keep, on top of this throne being a dlc, i wouldnt be surprised seeing different thrones fitting different themes of the game

There's not a lot of things I like , to be honest.

I like the staff and the bow .The rest of the weapons , the armor , the mounts , the throne...I'm not seeing myself using it.

Maybe the Bog Unicorn , because it reminds me a bit of my old warlock mounts in WOW ,but I'm not sure.I'll have to see it ingame.

The halla looks like some Xmas deer , the dragon throne ...I hate those two huge horns on the front.(and it looks like some concept art.Again I'll have to see how it looks in game )

I'm mostly buying the Deluxe edition for the soudtrack at this point anyway.

Now that's a tacky throne, it doesn't look remotely comfortable or reasonable.

And horse armor, lol.

The bog unicorn reminds me of the undead horses from Red Dead Redemption: Undead Nightmare.

It would be cool if the different mounts had differing stats and/or characters reacted to you differently depending on which one you rode.

I would love to see peoples' reaction when a Templar Specced Warrior, who is incredibly Anti-Mage rides up on a horse obviously animated with some form of Blood Magic.

I don't know...all the dragon stuff is so over-the-top that it seems more appropriate for a corny dragon-themed megalomaniacal evil villain than a nobody soldier who rises up to save the world. The weapons especially are so form-over-function that they're practically a joke.

Halla would be good for a Dalish but doesn't make sense for anyone else, unicorn would be immersion breaking when no NPCs ever notice that you're riding a rotting zombie hell-horse (nor can I imagine many people would want to ride such a monster).

So yeah, I won't be getting the Deluxe edition like I did for DA2. About the only thing that I like in the pack is the armor (seems to be a common opinion), and I'm not paying $10 to use that and ignore the other stuff.

One thing I have never gotten in any RPG I've played but I'm always hoping for is an "Understated" DLC.

Seems silly? Yeah, I guess. However I mean stuff like;

A throne that just is a simple chair shape, could be stone or wood. Just simple. Lincoln Memorial simple is fine, not meaning the entire thing of course, not a palace sized building just for a chair. Just a simple chair. It's got a back, some arm rests and a place to put the Inquisitor's butt. LOL just a simple, sturdy chair.

Same premise for weapons/armor.

Basically, it's a sword, it's finely crafted of course but it doesn't glow, it doesn't have engravings, it doesn't have jewels in the hilt etc etc. Simple, fine, effective. A stave that is just a walking stick, simple, effective, finely crafted, perhaps Iron Wood but just a stick shape. And so on and so forth.

Armor, it's chain mail with some cloth for color and leather for additional effectiveness. No giant shoulders, no gold inlay, no heraldry embossing, no "legends say this belonged to" history. Simple, finely crafted, but simple.

I know the logical response should be vanilla items are that. But no. Vanilla items are common. A vanilla item is made by a vanilla smith with vanilla talent. Let's say vanilla again. Vanilla.

Understated doesn't mean vanilla or common. eg. A master smith in Feudal Japan could create a katana that would be superior to others, but it really wouldn't look that different. A jade hilt doesn't necessarily make the katana a better sword.

The Halla looks OK. The rest looks pretty meh & over the top IMO.

Also why is there a pointy end on the hilt of the swords? Seems a little hazardous no?

...A jade hilt doesn't necessarily make the katana a better sword.

Let alone a dragon-bone hilt with more dragons on it and skulls and rubies and flames shooting everywhere and a death-metal band that starts screaming whenever you unsheath it. Kinda the sense I get from these things.

Hear, hear. Can't tell you how much I'd love that, too.

I swear, "fans" are among the hardest people to please.

I like all of them except for the throne since it looks less like a throne and more like a corrupt clam.

I think the bog unicorn, if true, is actually inspired.  That would never have crossed my mind.

I can see where some of these items aren't to everyone's taste.

I tend to play multiple play throughs and while most of these item won't work for most of my characters, some of them will work for all my characters.

As in:

My hNecro wouldn't be caught dead on the fluffy halla.

My eRogue would name him "Buttercup" and scour the country side for nummies to feed him.

My qWarrior would carry the armored mount on their should, poor puny thing.

Even if we can equip things regardless of class I don't understand why there wouldn't be a mage and rogue version of the armor. Also is it just the picture or are the two hand and one hander swords really that close in size?

I like most of the weapon designs (except the shield and dagger) but wish they weren't on fire. I don't like that effect. I really like the armoured horse. A dragon skull throne is actually an interesting idea, but it would be better if you could only get it if you killed a large enough dragon to use its skull like that as a trophy.

Well my Halla will definitely be named "Gizmo," lol!

I like all the mounts and it's nice to FINALLY see a fantasy game that has mounts that aren't all the usual "multicolored" horses but actually will offer quite different ones (There's a lizard mount as well in the game, and I'd assume others we don't know about).

I like them all, although I now can't unsee "corrupted clam" in place of the throne...

Although, am I the only one to think that the Halla is pulling a bit of a cross-eyed derpy look in the particular version? I like the design, but its facial expression in this version has kind of a Little Bub vibe.

That unicorn looks really low res or something. I like that it has what looks like a giant nail in its head instead of a horn though, hahaha.

All 6 of these look cool. Hopefully all companions get a mount too, otherwise I fear some injuries in the butt if I have to fit all my companions on my Red Hart Halla. Would be kinda painful if I have to sit one on the head. Will be a bumpy ride.

The Halla would be a supple leather couch of head-sitting compared to the unicorn.
