I'm interested to see what they can pull off with it.
Normally with procedural generation, it's great for generating large amounts of terrain but not so great at keeping things unique and interesting. You can vary a few things like adding trees or making it a different biome, but after a while it all starts feeling like the same area only with different textures. Anything that's really different or unique you have to go in afterwards and hand craft yourself.
The game does look quite promising, though. We've had this technology for at least two decades, so I would say we're overdue for some real advancements with it.
I agree. Although if they have different rules about how the life is populated and forms depending on the parameters if the planet, it could be intriguing. Terrain can be generic if you assume similar composition and effects like gravity, but can be insanely complex if you add in different mineral composition types, presence of liquid oceans (of not just water, but also more exotic chemicals, like methane) and, of course, varying levels of gravity, atmospheric protection from incoming debris (or lack thereof) and suddenly things can be wildly different. If you do similar tweaks with the confines of biology and sentience, THAT would be truly a sight to see.
Let's hope for the best!
So the E3 abridged things are back again and I still love them.

Yes! Been waiting for these.
Heh isn't that just pre ordering a game you already own?

Nah. I've got a 360 and an Xbox One, but I only have the discs for ODST right now, which was the last Halo game I played. I've never even touched Halo 4, which already makes it worth it. Four games for the price of one, and one of those games I've literally never played a single second of, so it works out.
Besides, Halo's good enough that in 2017 I'll absolutely get the Halo 3 Anniversary edition, and after Halo 6 if they release some super collection that is affordable, I'd get that too.
Halo's a series that is very easy to go back to. I've been burnt out on Halo for quite a few years though.
I feel now is the time to jump back in to one of my old loves.
Good point. Having all the games on one disk on one console probably helps with storage and inevitably failing consoles too.

PS4: "Gruff man… Victorian guns.. Guns and axes… Platformer… Island guns… Magic guns… Zombies… Remastered zombies… Cops 'n' robbers… Platformer.. Tetris.. Cars"
Xbox: "Futuristic guns… Cars… Cars… Shooting Monsters… Killing French Soldiers… Dragons… Madcap guns… Madcap zombies… Dancing… Admittedly cool-looking fun RPG… Halo… Halo… Halo… Halo… Halo… Apocalypse New York… Dragons"
Nintendo: "Paintball squid firing paint like Call of Duty meets Nickleodeon.. fighting toads and plumbers and elves.. a clay pink thing floating about on a touch screen… a weird elf shooting laser arrows.. a little Toadstool hunting for treasure.. some kind of fighting game.. money-making toys… a draw your own adventure Mario game.. dinosaur thing made of wool for some reason swallowing wool for some reason.. "
I agree with the article; Nintendo won E3.
Ha! Very nice.

And the Xbox One is a reliable console because Microsoft took all the steps necessary to keep this thing ventilated, hahaha.
We made fun of that last year in 2013's E3 Thread, but it works out swimmingly.
A stupid looking console that works is better a good looking console that does not .

You'd be surprised how hot it gets if you cover the top.
So, yeah, don't put your game case on the vent side, could get a little warm.

Great alternative to an AC unit. ![]()
E3 this year mostly sucks.

My Xbox One lays alone and gets enough space for air;nothing is put on top of it unless I have it not in use.
When using my 360, I put the 360 on top of it and play that. No issues.
None of those nintendo games sound even remotely appealing, but that's what having a dedicated audience is all about I suppose.
I was laughing at the irony of Sony showing off and talking about TV and going on way too long without showing games during that middle monologue
Made me laugh at all the people that took digs at the One last year saying Sony wouldn't do that(though to be fair MS's presenting was pretty ass back then)

MS were ridiculed for it back then for it, and rightfully so.
I find it odd how few people even blinked this time around. (Admittedly it wasn't quite as bad, but still...) Most people I've seen even seem to say Sony won after all.
Speaking of which, c'mon guys. Splatoon.
Thats called bias. Same thing happens, but its only bad when one side does it.
Last year, my friend thought MS's whole marketing thing was stupid, but he still got both consoles.
This year, he loved what MS presented but thought the majority of Sony's was a bore.
In the end, he's still gonna have both consoles, play games on both, and have a blast.

People were also probably paying a lot more attention last year to Sony and Microsoft's conferences because they were just announcing their new consoles. A lot of the people who blasted Microsoft then may not have even tuned in to notice Sony doing the same thing now. I think some comparative silence is understandable.

Oh you can tell the difference here on the BSN. Compare the size of this year's E3 Thread compared to last year's. The link to 2013's is in the OP here. Massive difference.
I get what he's saying though. Sony's gonna be showing off PS4 games pretty much exclusively, right? Well, if Microsoft doesn't do the same for Xbox One games and focuses just as much on PCs, it doesn't really do their console market any favors.
If anything, what there could be is a PC specific section of E3 just for that platform. Thats what I'd ask for.
The problem I see is that most games that were shown during Microsoft and Sony's presentations are multi-plat, at least the big names (Witcher 3, Dragon Age, Assassin's Creed, Star Wars: Battlefront, Mirror's Edge 2, Rise of the Tomb Raider, GTA V, Arkham Knight, etc.). If you were to create a PC-specific section that basically advertised at least half the titles for both PS4 and Xbox One, if not more, would be on PC, then perhaps more people would be interested on buying a PC over a console.
