Now I'm just waiting for another price drop.  That's why I didn't want the X1 in the first place - the kinect-less is the way to go for me.

I haven't been horribly impressed by either console and think their specs were somewhat dissapointing, especially when viewed with the long-term picture in mind. Yet now I may pick up one of the cheaper X1s now that they're (sorta) no longer making everthing about Kinect.

Never been a fan of Sony but I've got to give them credit for doing a better job of marketing the PS4 as actually having games vs "you can watch TV and movies on it using voice commands" for the plebs.

Wouldn't it technically be the prequel since the number 1 comes BEFORE the number 360 on the numerical chart?

To be honest, Microsoft shouldn't be relying on 3rd party devs to make use of Kinect they should be publishing themselves (get people to want the thing for gaming purposes). Devs are gamers too, I'm sure they have the same reservations as many gamers. The Facebook analogy doesn't really fit imo, most everyone wants to use Facebook. Kinect isn't there yet. 

 

When even the companies that created "features" like Kinect or the GamePad can't demonstrate their value to people maybe it's a sign that these gimmicks were poorly thought out to begin with.

Not if it was a modulus.

 

((v+2)%360), where v is the xbox number.

 

I keed though, I probably won't get a console though =(

It is the season of rumors, and while I made a thread on this itself, this year's first megaton was the rumored yet very credible leak of Project Beast, with info and supposed early development screenshots. Based on the leak, likely intentional, PS4 will be getting an exclusive Souls game, or new IP with heavy elements from the Souls series. A prominent voice of the Souls community, first shared with me by Dominus, goes into detail about the leak, shows screenshots, and adds hindsight info to further solidify the rumor. Check it out!!!

 

 

Beast Souls? There also was a 'Beasts of Lordran' trailer years back for Dark Souls, depicting the amazing artwork, exploration, enemies, music and struggle one faces in these games.

About the Xbox...I have a love/hate relationship with my 360...while it doesn't always freeze/disconnect/malfunction all of the time, but I'll be damned if it isn't the most irritating thing on the planet when it does decide to act up and freeze and lag. I do sort of miss the old days of being able to pop in a cartridge and turn on a console, press the start button and play...no gamertag/PSID or online accounts required. Fact of the matter is I bought my 360 back in November 2010 so I could play Fable 2 (after having totally loved the previous Fable) and to this day I consider it a bad investment. I'm not blaming Microsoft or Xbox for my purchase as it was my decision and my money that paid for it but the random/irregular online/profile quirks can be pretty maddening.

Smash Bros. Is really the only thing I am interested in in regards to Nintendo, I've almost forgotten about them during the whole PS4 vs XBONE war (can't really call it a console war because Nintendo was a non-entity and Microsoft screwed themselves Marketing and PR wise "get over it"). 

 

I am looking forward to any news concerning Final Fantasy XV, some say it will save the franchise along with the company but I wonder how much hope people can muster up if they've been waiting since 2006 (like I have) with barely any updates since? Any news on a new Fall Out game will be good because that means Elder Scrolls VI within the next 2-3 years :)
